Welcome
The library is a place of discovery! It is a place to imagine and think. It is a place browse. It is a place to invent. It is a place to relax, a place to enjoy, and a place to smile. It is a place to dream and believe. It is a place to reflect. It is a place to inquire and a place to research. It is a place to design. It is a place to succeed.
Our hope is the organization of the library collection into approximately twenty genres will help students to discover their favorite interests regardless of their reading habits. Students will have the opportunity to explore these genres during regularly scheduled library visits with their English class or they can receive permission for additional visits from other courses.
The library is also a location for technical support. Students may be referred to the library by a teacher or reach out to the librarian through canvas messaging.

Biography
The Troy South Library is managed by Librarian Mrs. Jana Flynn. This is her fifth year in this position and her twelfth year in education.
Mrs. Flynn grew up in a small town in central Missouri where both of her parents were educators. At a young age, she knew she wanted to follow in their footsteps because they loved their jobs. After finishing her bachelor's degree at Mizzou, she discovered her own reasons to love education. Mrs. Flynn likes to make connections with her students and help them discover new topics to catch their interest. She decided this passion fit great with her personal love of reading so she pursued a master's degree in Library Media and Technology from Lindenwood University. Her ultimate goal is to develop a welcoming library environment where students can not only find information but create their own knowledge.
On a personal note, Mrs. Flynn and her husband Kelsey have been married eleven years. They have a four and a half year old daughter named Farrah as well as a boy named Foster who turned two in July. Mrs. Flynn enjoys camping, audiobooks, holidays, boating, cats, sewing, fall, baking, and much much more. Stop by the library to learn other facts about the Troy South librarian.
