What if my child has a Rash?
The state Department of Health requires that children with undiagnosed rashes not attend school. If your child has a rash, provide the school nurse with a note from a physician that indicates the rash is not contagious. Some rashes such as impetigo, hand foot and mouth and scarlet fever, require 24 hour treatment with antibiotics before returning to school.
What if my child has chicken pox?
Please notify the nurse's office if your child contracts chicken pox. Your child can return to school after one week from the first appearance of eruptions, and lesions have been scabbed over.
