Q/P: "When I try to log in to Google Classroom, I'm asked for a class code."

Answer: If you are asked for a class code, that means that you are not logged in with your TLS Account. Here are some steps to fix that:

First, you should know that your Trinluth.org account is considered a gmail account. If you are already signed into Google with a personal account, you’ll need to add your Trinluth.org account.

Here's how to switch to or add your account:

If you are on the computer on Google Classroom you'll see your account info in the top right corner of the browser window. Make sure you've chosen your Trinluth.org account. If you haven't yet logged in on that device, you can choose "Manage Accounts" (twice) and you'll be able to add your Trinluth.org account. :)

If you are in the Google Classroom mobile app, you'll need to click on the three-bar in the top, left corner and select your Trinluth.org account there. Not yet logged in to that device? Touch the account that you are logged into, and then choose "Add another account", and add your Trinluth.org account.

By making sure that you are in the right account, then you should see the "join" button on your child/children’s teacher(s)’ Classroom Account.

Q/P: "I don't know our Trinity Login information."

Answer:

Family Accounts: Children in grades Pre-School through 3rd grade, are issued a family account--one single account for ALL children in the household within these grade bands. This single account is intended to reduce the number of logins parents and guardians need. In general, family accounts will use the last name of the first parent or guardian listed in FastDirect, followed by .family@trinluth.org. A child with two separate households listed in FastDirect will have two separate family accounts. Still not sure of your family account username? Please reach out to your child's teacher by FastDirect or email.

Student Accounts: Children in grades 4 through 8 will each have individual accounts, since these students are trained for more independence on the computer, and have more interactions on devices. To stay connected with their older students' work, parents and guardians are encouraged to sit with their older child at the computer and review upcoming and completed work with your child. Additionally, all parents and guardians are encouraged to have their child's password so that they may check in on their child's progress independently as well. Student accounts use the first initial of a child's full first name, followed by the child's last name and @trinluth.org. Still not sure of your child's username? Please ask your child or reach out to your child's teacher by FastDirect or email.

Q/P:"I can't remember my the password for our Trinity account."

For the security of our students and their accounts, users cannot change their own passwords. At the start of each year, families and students will be given the chance to choose a new password for the new school year. Many teachers keep a copy of your child's password to assist students while in the classroom. You can reach out to your child's teacher first to see if he or she can share the password with you. Otherwise, please use the Password Reset Form to be sent a link to change your password.

Q/P: "How do I switch between Google Accounts on my devices?"

On a computer:

If you are on the computer on Google Classroom you'll see your account info in the top right corner of the browser window. Make sure you've chosen your Trinluth.org account. If you haven't yet logged in on that device, you can choose "Add another account" and you'll be able to add your Trinluth.org account.

On a Google Mobile Application:

If you are in the Google Classroom mobile app (or any other Google Mobile App), you'll need to click on the account image or icon (if you haven’t added a picture, Google defaults to a letter in a circle) in the top, right corner of the screen and select your Trinluth.org account there. Not yet logged in to that device? Click the account icon and then choose "Add another account" from the menu that pops up. Add your Trinluth.org account, and then use the account picker to toggle between your Trinluth.org account and your personal account.

Q/P: "I can't get in to Google Meet in early."

A: For student security, Google Meets are only available for use by students (including family accounts) when the teacher is logged in. Any time a student tries to use Google Meet when a teacher isn't in the Meet, they will get an error. Teachers should have shared a schedule of when they will be "Live" on a Google Meet. At that time, you should be able to click the Google Meet "Camera" in the banner of your Google Classroom, and see your teacher and classmates through that Meet. :)

Q/P: "The audio doesn't work on our Chromebook"

A: If audio (input: microphone OR output: speakers) does not seem to be working on your Chromebook, first try restarting your Chromebook down using the "Power down" option in the main menu, or by pressing and holding the power button . If the audio problem persists, try plugging in a set of headphones to hear if audio output works through the headphones, or use the microphone on a pair of headphones to see if the input works through the external microphone. If the audio issue still isn't resolved and the device is a school Chromebook, please email us at TLSTechSupport@trinluth.org for next steps to troubleshoot further.
