My Civil War Trip

In June of 2017 I took a trip to seven Civil War Battlefields. It was generously funded by parents from Trinity School in Midland, Texas. I drove from Midland to Shiloh, or Pittsburgh Landing. I spend the day at Shiloh and drove the next day to Appomattox Court House in Virginia. From there is was on to Sterling, Virginia where I headquartered.

I drove to Manassas (site of two battles), then to Fredericksburg and Chancellorsville. I took a day to visit Washington D.C. and see some of the sites. And then I was off to my favorite battlefield: Antietam. It was eerie, you could almost feel the impending battle, go if you ever have a chance. I wrapped up my trip with the crown jewel, Gettysburg. A great site, a little on the touristy side, but wonderful.

From Gettbsyburg it was back home, 1600 miles to Midland. Thank you to all of you who helped me get there, it was fantastic.

Below is a map of my travels.
