Full Name: Clinton Buckingham
Nickname: Clint
Parent: Keevan & Cindy
Siblings: Aalanah (20)
Parent/Sibling Trait that you Admire: Their drive.
When I was young, I envisioned myself to be: A mechanic.
Future Plans: To continue being a diesel mechanic.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years: Sitting on my front porch drinking a Mt. Dew, looking at all my broken Ford 6.0’s
What is your most memorable moment from school years at Treynor: Getting in trouble for roasting tires in the parking lot and blowing up the piston rings in my 7.3.
What extra-curricular activities were you involved in at Treynor? Fishing club, wrestling (freshman- junior year), football (freshman and sophomore year), and soccer (freshman year).
If you have a day without commitments, what would you most likely be doing? I enjoy spending time with my lovely girlfriend Abby and her beautiful baby Harlow. Typically we’ll go ride horses, or I’ll go work on one of my many pickups.
What are some of your favorites (e.g. food, movies, books)? Food - Bubble pizza (grandma Cindy’s); Movie - Divergent series; Book - The After series.
What will you miss the most about THS? I will probably miss all the teachers who helped get me to where I am, but definitely Mr. Nickerson and Ms. Abbott. Not only did these two give me a constant safe place where I could always talk about mechanics, that I doubt either of them understood, but without even trying these two people had the biggest impact on helping shape who I have became even in just the last few years. Certain things I’ve watched, helped, or talked with them about, I was always looking beyond just our conversations and it ended up helping me teach myself a lot of lessons, before I ever thought it would have.
What advice would you give underclassmen? Don’t let anyone slow your roll. Not family, not teachers, and surely not jealous classmates. No matter what anyone says or anyone thinks of you. I showed up to school everyday, rugged hat on my head, worn out jeans, and holes in my boots. I have always worked A LOT, but due to that hard work and ignoring what anyone else thought of me, I’m 18 making more money than most people who have been in my trade for 5 years, and I’m finishing college with my associates the same time I’m graduating high school. If nobody believes in you, just believe in yourself. If you live your life trying to forget everything you should’ve done, usually you forget to just live.
