Full Name: Cadence Lynn Quick
Parent: T.J. & Angie
Siblings: Emmagen (13), Titus (6), Nixon (5)
Parent/Sibling Trait that you Admire: I admire many things about my parents and siblings! First off, I admire how much my dad pushes me to reach my full potential. He is my biggest supporter, but won't always show it! I admire my mom for how she spreads herself thin to make sure we all get individual quality time. She will always listen to my rants about my bad days and offer comfort. Next, I admire my sister for her assertiveness. She knows what she wants and will get it. I admire my brother, Titus for how he is very passionate about his monthly obsession, and is very true to himself. Lastly, I admire how Nixon has stayed so optimistic in the last three years during his diagnosis and battle with cancer.
When I was young, I envisioned myself to be: When I was young, I envisioned myself to be the next Hannah Montana.
Future Plans: My future plans are to attend the University of Iowa to major in Elementary Education.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years: I see myself in ten years happy and hopefully teaching a third grade class. I hope to have a great relationship with family and make biweekly phone calls to everyone! I also hope to have or started my masters in guidance counseling! Lastly, I hope to possibly coach a middle school volleyball team and to afford a weekly Starbucks coffee!
What is your most memorable moment from school years at Treynor: My most memorable moment from my time at Treynor was my freshman year of softball. We were playing Riverside in the 7th inning with two outs. It was a close game, and I was in left field. The ball was hit short in my direction, and I made a diving catch to the ball. After about three summer salts, I threw my hand in the air to show I caught the ball for the third out. My team was so excited about the big catch and win. I even got a KMA shout out on their twitter!
What extra-curricular activities were you involved in at Treynor? I have been involved in volleyball, basketball, track, softball, JOI Club, State JOI Club, NHS, Student Government, Speech, and Keep Kids Alive Drive 25.
If you have a day without commitments, what would you most likely be doing? If I had a day without commitments, you would find me with a coffee at Target or T.J. Maxx roaming the aisles. I would then go on a run or workout and when I get back home bake cinnamon rolls or chocolate chip banana muffins. I would end my day with a walk or a good book!
What are some of your favorites (e.g. food, movies, books)? Some of my favorites are Taylor Swift, Friends, coffee, pickles, garlic bread, pink, Tangled, and any Colleen Hoover book.
What will you miss the most about THS? I will miss the people the most. The supportive community, teachers, and students is something not every school has. I am so lucky to call myself a Cardinal alongside these great peers, alumni, and educators.
What advice would you give underclassmen? I would tell underclassmen to be involved as much as they can! You never want to look back on your senior year and wished you would have tried something! I would also tell underclassmen to enjoy it! You only have four years to be part of homecoming or a student section. Stand up and cheer on your team, or dance crazily with your friends! Have fun and don't care what others think because more than likely they will just follow along!
