Full Name: Stella Mae Umphreys
Parents: John & Carolyn
Siblings: Avery (25) & Kendrick (21)
Parent/Sibling Trait that you Admire: I admire how genuine and determined my family is. My brothers have taught me to never give up and work hard for what you want. My parents raised me to be kind to others because one small thing to you could mean the world to someone else.
When I was young, I envisioned myself to be: A dance teacher or an elementary teacher.
Future Plans: I plan to major in nursing at Northwestern College in Orange City and to become a Midwife in the future.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years: I see myself just starting my journey as a Midwife, and starting a family somewhere in the country with lots of land!
What is your most memorable moment from school years at Treynor: My most memorable moments were: long days at softball tournaments while getting fried in the sun because I always seem to forget sunscreen, getting food poisoning on the bus ride home from state volleyball, pre-game dances and chants before volleyball games, and long days at marching band competitions.
What extra-curricular activities were you involved in at Treynor? I was involved in Band, Volleyball, Basketball, Softball, Track, Wrestling Manager, JOI Club, Selected for Girls State, 4-H, MVP Mentors Program, National Honor Society, Youth Leadership Council Bluffs, and Western Iowa Student Advisory Committee.
If you have a day without commitments, what would you most likely be doing? I would most likely be hanging out with friends or family or watching Netflix.
What are some of your favorites (e.g. books, movies, foods)? Some of my favorite things are board games, sports, country music, pineapple, steak and asparagus, ice cream, summer, fishing, and Netflix.
What will you miss the most about THS? I will miss how supportive and involved our community is at Treynor with all of our activities. No matter what, we are always here for each other. I will also miss the school administration, because they all genuinely care about how we are doing or if there is anything they can do to help us.
What advice would you give underclassmen? When you become an upperclassman, be the upperclassman that you always wanted. Always be kind to others, because you don't know what everyone is going through. Also try new things, be yourself, and do what you want to do. Do not let others tell you what you should do. Get involved in activities within the school and your community. Don't forget to smile and have fun while you are doing it because it goes by fast.
