anna halverson

Full Name: Anna Elaine Halverson

Parents: Scott & Jill

Siblings: Will (19) and Andrew (23)

Parent/Sibling Trait that you Admire: I admire how kind and compassionate my family is. They have taught me how to properly treat other people, which I believe is so important because people never forget the way you made them feel.

When I was young, I envisioned myself to be: A doctor or a horse trainer.

Future Plans: I plan to major in biology at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and to then attend medical school to become a child psychiatrist.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years: I see myself doing a residency within a Children's Hospital to become a psychiatrist. I also see myself living in the country and starting a family with one too many horses.

What is your most memorable moment from school years at Treynor: My most memorable moments were: Volleyball camps in South Dakota where I shattered my phone and made way too many tik-toks, going to Okoboji with the basketball team and riding jet skis and then staying up too late, and state volleyball when we all got food poisoning on the bus ride home from Cedar Rapids.

What extra-curricular activities were you involved in at Treynor? I was involved in Band, Jazz Band, Large Group and Individual Speech, Track, Basketball, Volleyball, JOI Club, Student Government, 4-H, the MVP Mentor Program, National Honor Society, Western Iowa Student Advisory Committee and I was a part of Hunt Performance Horses as well!

If you have a day without commitments, what would you most likely be doing? I would definitely be riding my horse or going to Starbucks with my friends.

What are some of your favorites (e.g. books, movies, foods)? Some of my favorite things are my horses, the book Pillow Thoughts by Rupi Kaur, The Beatles, Garth Brooks, the movie Hacksaw Ridge, Nicholas Sparks stories, watermelon, and sushi.

What will you miss the most about THS? I will miss the sports camps and trips with my best friends, pre-game basketball/volleyball music, chants, and prayers, and the supportive teachers and staff who push us to be our best everyday.

What advice would you give underclassmen? High school only lasts four years so make the most of every day. Try new things, meet new people, don't be afraid to speak up, and most importantly have fun. Be active and make experiences happen because the memories you make will last you a lifetime.
