This weekend saw us at Silverstone for rounds 10,11 & 12 of the Civic Cup.
Friday Testing :
Pace was really strong in practice setting similar times to my much more experienced teammates. However, the car developed a slight power issue that we thought we had sorted…
Saturday :
Silverstone
What could’ve been… part 2
Qualifying: 18th - had a perfect opportunity in qualifying for a good lap but the car was still experiencing random losses of power similar to that in testing. My time from Friday would’ve have put me in the top ten even with old tires.
Race one: dnf - still experiencing a slight power issue I had began working my way through the pack when I surprisingly spun after going too deep into a corner, shortly followed by my diff going and me retiring. Possibly the diff caused the spin? Who knows.
Race two: 23rd - 16th - started on the second to last row of the grid got a good start but locked my left rear wheel going into turn 2 causing unavoidable contact with the car in-front bringing out a safetycar. This left not much time to move up the field and I finished 16th.
Race three: dnf - got a great start ending up in around 13th from 20th by turn 2 and then the clutch went forcing another retirement.
When it finally looked like I had a chance to get back in the top ten all the way from 20th another unforeseeable mechanical issue snatched it away before the end of the first lap.
Similarly to Cadwell pace was strong and I can only look forward to brands and hope to continue my previous success at the circuit after achieving two podiums there this time last year.
We keep pushing.
As always a big thank you to my partners for making racing possible and welcome to North Somerset Roller Garage Doors who have come on board for the second half of the season. If you want to learn more about the benefits we can offer your company head over to our TC Partners & Supporters Area and take a look at our Partnership Brochure.
Friends and Family can also help me continue racing by making a donation using the link below, I have pledged 20% of all non commercial donations made through this website to Race Against Dementia at the end of the 2023 season so you will be helping a great charity too.
As usual the weekend wouldn't have gone so smoothly without the hard work put in by everyone at Pro Alloys Racing, from the mechanics, driver coaching to the catering, keeping the cars and drivers fueled ready for racing. And the team photographer for the great action shots.
