Friday Testing :
The car felt good during Friday practice, few tweeks here and there and lots of data sharing from the rest of the Pro Alloy Drivers. Finished Friday looking forward to qualifying on Saturday.
Saturday :
What could’ve been…
Qualifying: p9, p7
With a good setup call from Jordan, my mechanic, my tires came in perfectly and my two fastest laps were within a tenth of each-other as any racing driver would say, I could’ve gone quicker but the consistency put me in a good position for race 3.
Race 1: 10th a steady race with a battle to keep it in the top ten which put me pole for race 2.
Race 2. After starting pole a late move from the car behind after I had already committed to the corner left my right rear rim cracked in multiple places. luckily red flags due to a separate incident allowed me to pit for a new wheel however I would be starting from the pit lane with cold tires and ruined tracking. I managed to salvage the race going from 22nd from the pit lane to 11th but a disappointing result after a podium looked so promising.
Sunday :
Race 3: after the red flag restart I got run wide out of turn 8 putting me further down the field resulting in me getting caught up in another incident a lap later where as you can see I had absolutely nowhere to go. Not the way I wanted the weekend to end especially after the disappointment from the day before but still plenty of positives to take away.
This weekend was still a step in the right direction with pace continuing to improve and I look forward to Silverstone at the end of September.
As always a big thank you to my partners for making racing possible and welcome to City Plumbing who have come on board for the second half of the season. Thank you to Youth Sport Nutrition and Gunners Coctails for supply the shakes and refreshing drinks for the weekend. If you want to learn more about the benefits we can offer your company head over to our TC Partners & Supporters Area and take a look at our Partnership Brochure.
Friends and Family can also help me continue racing by making a donation using the link below, I have pledged 20% of all non commercial donations made through this website to Race Against Dementia at the end of the 2023 season so you will be helping a great charity too.
As usual the weekend wouldn't have gone so smoothly without the hard work put in by everyone at Pro Alloys Racing, from the mechanics, driver coaching to the catering, keeping the cars and drivers fueled ready for racing. And the team photographer for the great action shots.
