Women’s History Month celebrates the many contributions and achievements of women in history and modern society. It is celebrated each March and is celebrated in the United States, United Kingdom, and Australia. March 8th is a special day during March as this is International Women’s Day on March 8th.
This celebration started in1978 in Sonoma, California and was originally a week-long celebration started by the National Women’s History Alliance. In 1980, it was moved to a month-long celebration. Celebrations occur all over the nation during this month as women are recognized and celebrated for their many accomplishments throughout the centuries.
