Native American Heritage Month

Native American Heritage Month is celebrated each November. In August of 1990, George W. Bush declared November as National American Indian Heritage Month. It is now referred to as Native American Heritage Month.

November is set aside as a time to honor and celebrate the history and culture of the Native peoples. This is also a time to promote learning about the tribes and their impact on the past and current history. Native American Heritage Month also recognized the many struggles of native peoples.
