National Filipino Heritage Month

National Filipino Heritage Month marks the arrival of the first Filipinos who landed in Morro Bay, California on October 8, 1587. It was established by the National Filipino Society in 1988.  It was inspired by activities by Dr. Fred Cordova.

This is also a time to remember the contributions of Filipinos. October is also a time to celebrate the culture and heritage of the Filipino people.
