Here is a rundown on all of the options that come up when you click on a student:

1. Student Profile

• Home information: address, phone number etc.

• Current schedule and the grade

• Behavior Incident Reports

• A lot of other stuff! Can really dig in here for student information from over the years

2. Student

• Again, lots of information: demographics, schedule etc.

• A highlight is the contact log of communication made through Synergy, or staff entered communication. Teachers can see all communication sent to this student/home through Synergy or manually entered.

3. Period Attendance 

• Attendance for various periods from previous days

• “Totals” will show overall attendance numbers

4. StudentVUE

• This is what students see when they open Synergy, so that’s very helpful!

5. ATP201

• I don’t really use this…it runs an attendance report PDF

• Just use the Period Attendance page

6. STU202

• This can be helpful if you want to print a schedule for a student, it runs a PDF

7. Communication

• This is where you can send a message through Synergy to the student, their home contacts, their other teachers, and their admin/counselor

• I would encourage you to put the student name in the Subject line, when you go back to look at your messages you’ve sent through Synergy, it doesn’t show who they went to unless you click on it. 

• Check “add to contact log”

• Auto Translate is a good thing to check

• Type the email and send

• At the top, if you click “sent” you can see the previous messages you’ve sent through synergy

• A fun thing about these messages is if you go back and click on a sent message, at the top you can click on “read” and see who has opened your message and who hasn’t.

8. Gradebook 

• This shows the student’s grades, but looking at StudentVUE is much more illustrative. 

9. Log Student Contact

• This is where you can log a contact that was not through Synergy.

• This is where you can put a phone call etc. 

• All other teachers/admin etc can see this information

10. Add CICO enrollment

• Not sure what this does exactly

11. Add Observation

• Again, not sure

12. Add GEI referral

• Again, not sure

13. Add Minor Incident

• This is for events like being disrespectful, classroom disruption etc

• Teacher is responsible for contacting parents

14. Add Major Incident

• This is for big problems, like violence or…

• If you’ve done multiple minor incident reports for the same thing, this may be your next option
