EDpuzzle is a teaching tool used to place interactive content into pre-existing videos from a variety of sources, such as TED or YouTube, or into videos you have created. It adds assessments into strategic spots in the video and doesn't allow the student to proceed without answering the question. Teachers can also lock the video so students can't speed through the content. It also provides student analytics like how much time they spent on the task, what answers they submitted, how many times they watched the video, and when they watched it.

One of my favorite parts of EdPuzzle is the ability to trim out parts of a YouTube video to only show students the important pieces you want them to know. That means if you find a 45 minute video and want to use only 3 minutes, it is easy to do that using the handy trim tool (See image to right)!

There is also a rewatch section built into the student view so when they don't know the answer to a question you have posed, they can click the rewatch button to review the video section (See image to right)

While there is a free version of EdPuzzle, our district pays for all staff members to have the premium version of the application so teachers aren't limited to just 20 videos! Premium accounts have unlimited storage and videos.

Special Note: EdPuzzle is one of the few applications that do not work through Clever. You can link to the signup through Google Classroom or Seesaw and then students need to sign in using their district Google credentials. Staff can just navigate to www. edpuzzle.com
