I graduated from Emporia State University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. In 2012, I obtained my English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) endorsement from Kansas State University. My teaching certificate allows me to teach:
*Elementary Education (Kdg – 9th Grade)
*English for Speakers of Other Languages (Pre-Kdg – 12th Grade)
I am excited to start my 18th year of teaching. My first year of teaching was at Kennedy Academy, where I taught kindergarten. In 2005, I transitioned to public education with the Topeka 501 School District. Since entering the district I have been at Ross. While at Ross, I have taught 1st, 2nd, and 4th grades. I have TONS of memories from throughout the years, but my favorite is handing out slices of watermelon to scholars and families the night of Sneak Peek.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family and attending Emporia State Track & Field events for my niece and nephew. I also enjoy making various craft projects.
I look forward to building a relationship with you and your schaolar and thus providing the best education that I am capable of giving.
Our classroom is proud to represent Baylor University. Baylor is unique in that they offer a wide variety of social clubs promoting community while also keeping academics in high regard. In my classroom I like for my scholars to feel as though myself and their classmates are an extension of their family while also holding academics to a high standard just like the Baylor Bears do.
