Notices: There was some confusion this week where the children thought that their swimming lessons had changed to a Friday. This was a one off as they kept missing swimming due to the storms. Swimming lessons will continue to be on a Monday.

Father’s Day, or “Wan-Por” is a very important celebration in Thailand. We will have our Father’s Day Celebration for the whole school on Tuesday, 4th December 2018 from 8.30am to 9.30am. This is an opportunity for our students to express their gratitude to fathers, guardians or other special family members.

Parents and Guardians are invited to join us in our school celebration which will be activities at the school’s stage followed by our morning celebration ‘Breakfast with Dad’.

We invite you and your child to wear yellow or a yellow shirt. The school will provide the breakfasts, tea, coffee and juice but parents may also bring extra if they wish.

School will be closed on Wednesday 5th December.

The children finally finished their Himalayas D&T work by adding the finishing touches to Base Camp. You can see the pictures below but do feel free to come and take a look at the brilliant work they have created!

Also this week, the children created their own 2D and 3D shapes using lollipop sticks with the extra challenge of having to tell their partner the properties of the shapes that they had made!

To start off our traditional tales unit, we began looking at the story of Hansel and Gretel. The children analysed the different parts of the story and identified the introduction, build up, problem, resolution and ending to the story before writing a letter to their grandma in the role of Hansel or Gretel.

The children have begun designing their own floating garden which ties in so nicely with all the topics we have covered so far this year: D&T, rivers, india and materials. it will also be something that feeds into our next science topic which is flowering plants!

Have a great weekend from everybody in Year 3!

Some of the children in Year 3 also enjoyed writing some acrostic poems this week as part of their Wilderness ECA with Miss Lockwood!
