English : Diary account from The Firework Maker's Daughter
Maths : Addition and Subtraction using column method
Science : Introduction to Materials and their properties
Homework : The children have been given some new homework books that they will be expected to do at home. This week they should complete the first two pages of each book as well as their usual home reading and times tables practice.
Notices: Next Wednesday there will be a Hallowe'en disco after school for the children in Year 3. If you haven't already signed the forms for next week and given the 20 baht donation then please do so as soon as you can.
Year 3 have been working hard this week and we have built upon our learning from the previous half-term in our topic of addition and subtraction to begin using column addition and subtraction. The children also did some great problem solving where they used a pyramid scaffold to find numbers that make 15 as well as learning a new really popular game called "Strike it out"!

for the halloween party we have been preparing some really creative spiders and their webs as decorations for our disco next week!

this week we have also made a start to our new Geography topic that we are doing this term which is india and we have lots of exciting activities planned for the children which we can't wait to do as a class!
