Year Six Weekly Update
Monday 17th September - Friday 21st SeptemberÂ
Review (This week)Â
English : This week in English we have been exploring instructional writing and beginning to learn about creating our own diary entries.
Maths : We have been looking closely at word problems, and the language involved. We have been working really hard to master multiplication.
Science and Topic: We have been looking at extreme habitats such as those found in the Arctic and Sahara Desert. We have started our new topic unit this week, and have had lots of fun learning about The Mayans, Aztecs and Incas.

English :Â We will continue to work on our diary entries, building up to the children creating their own two entry diary.
Maths : Â Division will be our primary focus this week, exploring a variety of arithmetic questions and reasoning problems.
Science and Topic : We will continue to learn about extreme habitats and look in more detail about Mayan science, daily life and rituals
Homework :Â
Children should be reading every day at home - please make sure to sign their reading record and remind your child to bring it to school every day.
Children should continue to practise their times tables on Times Table Rockstars.
Two tasks have been set for the children to complete on MyiMaths, a place value and a subtraction task.
