Year One Weekly Update

Monday 25th February - Friday 1st March

Review (This week)

English : We came with questions that we wanted to find out about our new topic, 'Africa'. Then we found footage of a lion in the school so we decided to write a newspaper report to tell everyone using subheadings, a title and a picture.

Maths : In Maths we have been learning to count in 2s ,5s and 10s mentally and to multiply by 2, 5 and 10 by drawing an array.

Science: In Science we have observed the similarities and differences between each other. We are learning to name the parts of our bodies.

Preview (Next week)

English : We will be putting African animals in alphabetical order; using a dictionary to find out different meanings and using -ing verbs.

Maths : We will be learning how to divide by 2, 5 and 10 using different methods. We will also be working out what to do with remainders.

Science: This week we will be discovering different ways to measure ourselves and compare our heights.
