Week Two

Year One Weekly Update

Monday 30th April - Friday 4th May

Review (This week)

English : We have been working really hard to create our own "___ who came to Tea" stories and have planned and started to write and illustrate our books. There are some wonderful ideas and some very interesting characters.

Maths : Doubling and halving has been the focus and we have shown some great understanding, especially of doubling. although perhaps a bit of extra practice is required for halving numbers.

Science : We attempted to link parts of our body to the five senses and will need another opportunity to prove that the understanding is there.

Preview (Next week)

English : We will look to finish our books ready for our own library, before looking at some grammar activities, looking at punctuation and sentence structure to end the week.

Maths : Moving on to larger multiples (5 and 10) will be the order for the week, with a problem solving activity to demonstrate our understanding.

Science : We will be conducting a sense investigation to reunite a girl with her Teddy Bear by becoming sense detectives.

Homework : Please remember that an optional homework is available to support the work done in class. As ever, thank you for your support with reading - we are really starting to see the difference!

Have a lovely weekend.
