Thank you to everyone who attended Sports Day this Friday. It was a fantastic event and the practice done by Year 4 during their PE lessons paid dividends as we enjoyed some great individual and team performances.

In Maths we have been looking at the area of rectilinear shapes. We started the week doing some interactive activities in the classroom but then moved to the basketball court and investiated how we can find area for real life problems. It was great to see the class working in teams and trying to find the most effective way.

During Topic lessons we read and discussed why many Romans believed that Julius Caesar was a hero. Year 4 then went and researched Roman scutum shields and made a poster to show some of the deisgn features, advantages and disadvantages of the shields. We also discussed what it would feel like to lead an army into battle as Julius Caesar did.

Have a great weekend and please contact me if you have any questions.

Many thanks,

Simon Bray
