The Friday house football activity was the perfect end to what has been a very positive week for Year 4. There was some great team work on display and most importantly, everyone had fun and enjoyed this event.

In English we started the week by imagining we were land owners in Ancient Egypt. Our task was to think of reasons why people should come and settle beside the River Nile. After our hot seating activity, the class  planned and then created some very persuasive posters that featured rhetorical questions, powerful adjectives and we even made our own catchy slogans.

In Maths we continued to look at addition and subtraction and also considered how we use addition and subtraction in every day life.

We then took a "tour" of the Murray River in Australia, starting at the source and working our way down to the mouth. The class identified many features along the way such as orchards, dams, reservoirs, vineyards and pastures. We also looked at the River Thames, identifying its source and mouth.

In our Science lessons we did some interesting sorting and matching activities involving animal skeletons, considering exoskeletons and endoskeletons.

Have a great weekend and please contact me if you have any questions.
