Review of learning - changing states.

A note to say...

Year 4 are now using their Reading Records much more consistently and handing in their homework on time regularly. A big well done to the pupils for developing their independence and organisation and a big thank you to all of the families supporting this!

Speaking and listening

We have been focussing on developing confidence with animated storytelling!

We have also been developing careful speaking and listening skills by playing games that involve giving and receiving instructions from a partner. In this game, pupils had to retreive a tiny pebble that their partner had hidden. No pointing or gestures allowed! It was also a great chance to enjoy the garden...

Science

Year 4 have been enjoying learning about changing states. This week we focussed on reversible and irreversible changes: we carefully observed ice and candle wax melting. I know that some pupils even made their own ice sculptures at home after the lesson!

Art & design

In Art & Design, we have learnt a bit about pop art and the artist Andy Warhol. We are building up to making our own prints out of linoleum. Here is Andy Warhol's print of Mount Vesuivius:

Here are some of our own pop art inspired pieces:
