Reading
As always, reading is a main focus for your child's development.
The more your child reads, the more they will enjoy it! It will become easier and they will find books that they love. Their spelling will improve as will their spoken grammar and imagination.
At school, year 4 have the opportunity to read every day and to change their reading scheme book whenever they finish their last one. They can change their library book once a week in their library session.
The whole school has been participating in House Read on Mondays and there is always a reading option at Friday House Activities.
Notices:
Please see the back of your child's Reading Record for the Book Bingo challenge
Please encourage your child to write in their reading record when they read at home
A bookmark has been sent home with every child with example questions that you can ask them whilst they are reading
As well as encouraging them to read, reading to your child and getting them to listen to audio books is also hugely valuable. You can find many audiobooks online:
Thank you, as always, for your continued support.
