Year Five Weekly Update

Monday 11th June - Friday 15th June

Review (This week) 

English : Year 5 are progressing towards the last part of their book Tua and the Elephant and we wrote a playscript between Tua and various characters. The pupils then acted out these scenes!

Maths :  In Maths we completed two end of year tests, a calulator and non-calculator paper. We revised different Maths skills to prepare for these tests.

Science : In Science we carried out a very interesting experiment involving M&Ms and light filters to show Sir Isaac Newton's theory of light.

Preview (Next week) 

English : Next week Year 5 will be finishing the last few chapters of our story Tua and The Elephant. This Thai story has really been a great way for the students to learn about Thai culture. We will be writing a newspaper report and and story extension.

Maths :  In Maths we will focus on more protractor work in different polygons and identify types of triangles as well as a recap on perimeter and area.

Science : In Science Year 6 will begin a new topic, Earth and Space. 

Homework : 

-Pupils now have their myimaths login and passwords. They have one online piece to complete.

-30 minutes daily reading.

-Homework grid. (One piece).

Our country in International Day is Russia and we will perform a brief play and then dance. Our performance is next Friday (the 22nd of June)

-PE kit on a Monday, swimming kit on a Thursday.
