2024年10月7日～13日、タイのタマサート大学のイノベーション学部（College of Innovation: CITU）向けの6日間のショートプログラム（CITU-TOYO Short Program)を国際観光学部と国際教育センターが協働で実施しました。
CITU-TOYO Short Programは、本学の国際観光学部の学生のための 2 つの重要な教育目標を念頭に置いて作成されました。 1 つ目は、現実世界での活動に必要なコミュニケーション スキルを使用および開発すること、2 つ目は、文化や観光に関する知識をさまざまな国の人々と共有することです。これは、学生が国際的な意識を高め、将来の仕事に向けてスキルを向上させるのに役立ちます。このプログラムは 2024 年 10 月に 約1週間にわたって実施されました。
タマサート大学イノベーション学部の学生15名が国際観光学部の学生に加わり、座学とフィールドトリップ（持続可能性、日本の鉄道輸送、文化保存、エコツーリズムなどを含む）のプログラムに参加しました。フィールドトリップで訪れた場所は、東京駅、パレスホテル東京、埼玉県川越市、飯能市です。タイの学生も国際観光学部の学生も、この経験は貴重であり、深い学びが得られたと述べていました。
CITU-TOYO Short Programのようなプログラムは、国際観光学部と東洋大学で提供される教育に真の付加価値をもたらします。このプログラムの開発・実施にご協力いただいた国際課及びバンコクオフィスのスタッフをはじめ、国際観光学部およびタマサート大学の教員の皆様に深く感謝いたします。また、積極的に参加した学生の皆様にも感謝申し上げます。新しい文化に出会い、価値観やアイデアを学び、共有しようとする彼らの意欲こそが、最終的にこのプログラムを素晴らしいものにしました。私たちはタマサート大学、その教員および学生との関係がさらに発展することを楽しみにしています。（国際観光学部 グラハム・ロブソン教授）
Ecotourism Experience: Hiking Activity

This program was made with two important educational goals in mind for ITM（Faculty of International Tourism Management）students. First, to use and develop communication skills for real world activities and second, to share knowledge of culture and tourism with people from different countries. This helps our students to become more internationally aware and improve their skills for future jobs. The program took place over one week in October 2024.
Fifteen students from Thailand’s Thammasat University’s College of Innovation (CITU) joined students from ITM (Faculty of International Tourism Management) for a program of in class lectures and field trips (including sustainability, Japanese rail transport, cultural preservation, and eco-tourism, with the locations being Tokyo Station, the Palace Hotel Tokyo, Kawagoe and Hanno cities in Saitama). Both Thai and ITM students agreed the experience was valuable and that deep learning took place.
Programs like the CITU-Toyo short program really add value to the education on offer in ITM and Toyo University. I would like to offer deep appreciation for the staff at the Toyo International Affairs Office, Bangkok Office as well as faculty of ITM and Thammasat University who kindly participated in developing and implementing this program. I would also like to thank the students for taking part. Their willingness to encounter new cultures, learn and share values and ideas is what ultimately made this program great. 初めてタイの大学生と交流をして、感じたことがたくさんありました。短い時間ではありましたが、簡単な会話やお互いの文化や自身のことを話したことで異文化交流が出来て嬉しく感じました。実際にタイに行ってみたいなと思う気持ちが大きくなり、とても良い経験になったと思います。それから、英語勉強へのモチベーションも上がりました。（国際観光学部 1年生）
初めて自分からこのような国際交流に申し込みましたが、勇気を出して参加することができて本当によかったです。今日1日を通して、流暢ではないけれど自分なりにたくさん質問をしてタイの方と話すことができたのが嬉しかったです。また、講義内容はとても為になりました。５つ星のホテルに入るなんて素晴らしい機会をありがとうございました。また、JRの裏話、特に新幹線の話がとても興味深かったです。（国際観光学部 2年生）
積極的にタイの学生に話しかけて、何人かと仲良くなることができました。初めてこのようなアクティビティに参加したため貴重な経験になりました。またエコツーリズムについても学べたため、観光の勉強やIELTSのトピック、英語の授業等で活かすことが出来ると思います。また機会があれば参加したいです。（国際観光学部 3年生）
