Ms Yuri Tanuma selected as a French Governmental scholar

Ms Yuri Tanuma; a doctoral candidate of the Graduate School of Interdisciplinary New Science, was selected as a scholar supported by the French Government

She will participate in the “PhD double degree programme” organised by Toyo University and the University of Nantes. The title of her study is “Synthesis of novel carbon nanostructures”. She will carry out experimental study at the Bio-Nano Electronics Research Centre, Toyo University, and numerical and theoretical study at the Institute of Materials, University of Nantes. Note that Toyo University and the University of Nantes exchanged agreements on the “Staff exchange programme” and “PhD double degree programme” in 2012, which were renewed in 2017.

Ms Tanuma has so far given two presentations on her latest research results at international conferences held in France and the UK and won the “Best Presentation Award” at the “International Conference on Carbon Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (NanoteC18)”, which indicates that her research level and presentation ability are high even from an international point of view.

Ms Yuri Tanuma awarded a prize for best poster presentation

“PhD double degree programmes” are commonly organised and carried out among universities in the EU, but Ms Tanuma is the first Japanese student participating in the “PhD double degree programme” at the University of Nantes.
