Tomball High School partners with Lone Star College–Tomball to offer dual credit courses that allow high school students to earn college credit prior to graduation. Students typically begin taking dual credit courses during their junior year.
To be eligible for dual credit, students must meet qualification requirements, including required test scores, before registering. The dual credit application process begins during the spring semester prior to enrollment in courses. Students will be provided with deadlines throughout the process, and it is the student’s responsibility to meet all deadlines.
The State of Texas covers the tuition for dual credit courses. However, students are responsible for course-related fees, which are assessed each semester depending on the course, as well as the cost of required textbooks.
Grades earned in dual credit courses are recorded on both the high school transcript and the Lone Star College transcript. This program provides an excellent opportunity for students to begin earning college credit while preparing for postsecondary education.
Please Note: At this time entry into the 2026-2027 Dual Credit program is closed. The May 8, 2026 deadline has passed.
*2026-2027 New enrollment students, please speak to your student's guidance counselor for dual credit deadlines.
