Conference Speaker Highlight
'Alisi Tulua, Program Director of the Asian American Futures
What a phenomenal woman! 'Alisi Tulua shares her experience in data connections and the need of data within our Pacific Islander communities. She shared that in order to understand data collection we must understand data connections.
She gives 5 key pointes on her workflow:
Civil Rights Movement where our data was collected, Dr. Martin Luther King presented with a flower let by a Hawaiian Pastor and he work this let in the march.
Covid-19 data brought out the need for Public Health Care for the Pacific Islander community that was heavily impacted by COVID and still is being impacted into recovery.
Make the data work even for the smallest of the numbers (P.I.).
If it doesn't exist, BUILD IT!
With data, money, and funding support the needs.
'Alisi brings so much content for our community and continues the connections. We love her work and enthusiasm. We are so grateful and proud of 'Alisi Tulua!
