Frequently Asked Questions:
What is LEGO League? LEGO League Discover is the noncompetitive division of FIRST LEGO League, for kids age 4-6. "This playful introductory STEM program ignites young students' natural curiosity and builds their habits of learning with hands-on activities in the classroom and at home using LEGO® DUPLO® bricks."
What will we do? The program has a structured format that follows the same pattern each week: approximately 10 minutes of warm-up, 10 minutes of exploring, 25 minutes of creating, and 15 minutes of sharing, all with breaks built in. Kids work in teams and learn to collaborate on projects together—this is not open play with LEGOs. Families are expected to arrive on time and participate in the full session each week.
When will it meet? 10 Sunday afternoons (see dates above). Each session will last approximately 60-75 minutes.
Can I drop my kids off? No. Parents/caregivers must remain on-site. There is a separate room next to the league classroom with STEM toys available for younger siblings.
Can younger siblings attend? Yes. Younger siblings are welcome to attend and be in the room next to the classroom.
When is payment due? Payment is required to secure your spot. We will be in touch about payment once we confirm your registration.
How do I sign up? Locate the event on Tod Pod’s Calendar page and click the 'Register Here' link. Once registration closes, we will follow up to collect payment. Registrations are taken on a first come, first serve basis with room for 16 students per session.
What if a class is canceled? In the case of inclement weather, we will notify you via email of the cancellation and send an “at-home” activity in place of that week’s session.
Further Questions?
Tod Pod hosts a free info session in November before the program starts where adults can ask questions and kids can sample league activities. Families do not have to attend the info session to register for league. You can also email questions to info@todpod.org.
