About TNAU
Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, a leading agro-technology provider of India, has its genesis from establishment of an Agricultural School at Saidapet, Madras (now Chennai), as early as 1868 and was later relocated at Coimbatore. In 1920 it was affiliated to Madras University. It became University on 1st June, 1971. TNAU is celebrating its “Golden Jubilee Year” (June, 2021 - May, 2022). TNAU has its presence across the state of Tamil Nadu with 14 constituent colleges offering 10 undergraduate, 40 postgraduate and 29 doctoral degree programs. Till date, TNAU has developed more than 850 varieties in a wide array of crops, 1,500 production technologies and 166 farm implements and machineries which are widely popular among the farming community. These varieties and technologies have contributed remarkably to food and nutritional security, by enabling production of 285 million metric tonnes of food grains and 312 million metric tonnes of horticultural produce in India and 12 million metric tonnes of food grains and 17 million metric tonnes of horticultural produce in Tamil Nadu. TNAU is positioned at 8th place among Agricultural Institutions in India and 4th place among the State Agricultural Universities as per the ICAR Ranking 2019.
TNAU organizes this Conference with thought-provoking lead lectures and oral presentations, expecting more than 500 participants from around the globe. TNAU is in the heart of Coimbatore city, which is well connected by all transport means (Bus, Train and Air).

NextGen-Hort is organized at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University in Coimbatore (also known as Kovai), the ‘Manchester of South India’.
