Tithe Farm Primary Newsletter 11th March 2022

It is certainly beginning to feel like Spring is on the way with more blue skies and lighter mornings and evenings. We would like to extend a warm welcome to all of our new families who have joined over the last few weeks. The children have been very inclusive and have helped their new classmates to settle in quickly and find their way around. I have loved seeing the excellent learning which has been taking place this week. Children are taking great pride in their work and are expressing what they are learning well.

Tag Rugby Festival

Mr Wheeler took a group of Year 3 and 4 girls to play in a tag rugby festival earlier this week. The girls had an excellent time and modelled the Tithe Farm Way impeccably whilst visiting another school.

Miss Conway was very impressed with the skills that the girls demonstrated. Maybe we have some future women's rugby players in our school!

Friends of Tithe Farm

Pre-Covid we had an active group of parents and volunteers who organised many excellent events to raise funds to enrich the learning experiences for our children.

We are looking to re-establish this group over the next few months with the aim that we can put some events on in the summer term.

If you are interested in supporting the school and some time to spare, please do get in contact with the school office (office@tithefarmprimary.co.uk) and they will pass your information onto the chair of the 'Friends of Tithe Farm'.

Celebrations

Stars of the week: Salaar (1) and Carly (4)

Attendance: Emerald Class (99%)

House Points: Smile (1,580)

Adult of the Week: Mrs Bunce

Hot Spots: Turquoise, Topaz, Emerald and Sapphire

Word of the Week

This week's word of the week: impeccable

On Friday, the behaviour in the hall was impeccable.

Next week's word of the week: manipulate

Manipulate: to handle or control in a skilful manner.

Street Tag Team

We continue to be the most active Street Tag school! It is fabulous to see how many points you are all collecting! We are again topping the leader board with over 800,000 points...I wonder when we will get to a cool million?

Reading Volunteers

If you or someone you know has time to spare during the week, we are looking for volunteers to hear our children read.

Reading daily to an adult has a significant impact on the children's ability to read fluently and understand the text they are reading.

Please contact the school on: 01582 865047 or office@tithefarmprimary.co.uk

Science Week

Next week is Science week in school. This coincides with British Science week. We will be launching our week during assembly on Monday and then the children will be taking part in lots of exciting and interesting science investigations and activities each afternoon.

This year's theme is 'Growth' so I expect that next week, your children should come home and tell you lots of interesting information about all the different elements of growth.

Chartwells Golden Ticket

For 4 weeks between 17th March and 7th April, Chartwells are running a Golden Ticket competition. During this time, the children have a chance of winning a Food Superhero fidget toy.

There will be 5 lucky winners per week. On a Thursday children who have a hot dinner should check their tray for a 'Golden Ticket.' If they find one, they should tell an adult in the dining hall and they will win the fidget toy.
