In primary, we showcase learning highlights from the Year 6 Exit Point and Early Years Entry Point, celebrating engaging and meaningful learning experiences.
This edition also includes several important notices for families. Please take the time to read the updates regarding the upcoming Primary Parent Teacher Conference date and changes to the format, reminders about primary and secondary photoshoots as well as opportunities to participate in the Amazing Family Race at TISPC in June.
Finally, as we approach Teachers’ Day next week, we would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our teachers for their continued dedication, care and commitment to supporting every child’s learning journey. Their passion, patience and professionalism make a lasting difference in the lives of our students each day.
We would also like to wish all mothers and mother figures in our community a very Happy Mother’s Day this weekend. Thank you for the love, strength, care and endless support you give so generously each day. We hope you are celebrated and appreciated for all that you do and that you enjoy a wonderful day with your families and loved ones.
Best wishes,
Jane

Our teachers and staff recently participated in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), a globally recognised programme developed by LivingWorks Education delivered by Mental Health Inclusion, Awareness, Support and Advocacy Association (MIASA) Malaysia. This training equips school personnel with practical skills to recognise when someone may be struggling, respond with care and confidence and support them in staying safe.
Through ASIST, staff learn how to listen without judgement, identify warning signs and connect students to appropriate help. The training emphasises creating a safe, supportive environment where students feel heard and valued.
By investing in this professional development, our school strengthens its commitment to student wellbeing and ensures that every child is supported by a community of caring, attentive adults.
This Monday, our Leadership Team was delighted to welcome a group of interns from Taylor’s University to TISPC. The twelve interns will be with us until the end of July as part of their professional learning journey, gaining valuable experience in teaching within an international British curriculum setting.
Throughout their placement, each intern will work closely with a mentor teacher, supporting them in developing their understanding of lesson planning, classroom practice, student engagement and effective teaching strategies. The programme also provides opportunities for the interns to deepen their knowledge of the British curriculum and the wider expectations of international education.
At the same time, our students and staff benefit greatly from the interns’ enthusiasm, fresh perspectives and up to date understanding of educational approaches and technology. Many of the interns bring strong interests and skills in Digital Learning and innovative classroom practices, helping to enrich learning experiences across the school.
We are pleased to have them as part of our community and look forward to supporting them as they continue to grow into confident and capable educators.
Special thanks to Ms Emma and Mr Gary for running their safeguarding introduction, along with Ms Kerrie and Ms Patricia for organising and hosting the students at our school.
On 18th April 2026, the Interact Club’s Board of Directors (BODs) attended the Interact Leadership Training Seminar 2026 (IETS) at HELP University Subang Campus. The seminar was organised by the Rotary Club of Subang to equip newly appointed board members with a clearer understanding of their roles and responsibilities, while enhancing their leadership skills.
During the programme, participants were grouped according to their respective positions and attended sessions tailored to their roles. The seminar included inspirational sharing by Rotary members, guidance on addressing common challenges, and interactive discussions that encouraged students to express their ideas and build confidence.
The seminar was both insightful and productive, providing valuable knowledge on effective leadership while fostering connections with members from other Interact Clubs. The club looks forward to applying these learnings in future activities and events.

Each term, our school counsellors, together with our CAmbassadors, run the Jumpstart Programme to welcome newly joined students into the school community.
New students are eased in through ice-breaking activities before being taken on a guided tour of the school to help them find their footing. Bonding activities further help them forge friendships with their peers, while a dedicated session ensures they know where to turn for help should they ever need support during their time here.
We are pleased to see this programme continue to make a positive difference each term, giving every new student a confident and comfortable start to their school journey.
Seungwon (Year 9 CAmbassador)
On Monday 27th April we were pleased to welcome many new students into the secondary section and our wonderful team of student 'CAmbasadors', led by our School Counselling team, delivered a meaningful 'Jumpstart' induction to welcome and guide our new classmates.
The Jumpstart Programme was a really meaningful experience for the other Cambassadors and I, because it allowed us to welcome new students and help them feel more at ease in a new environment, using the skills we learnt from our Cambassadors meetings. We started with a short icebreaker bingo game, which definitely helped everyone open up, then a group activity where we designed a flag together. We shared our hobbies and interests while drawing to get to know each other. This made us much more comfortable with each other.
Finally, one of the most exciting parts of the morning was the scavenger hunt, where the CAmbassadors guided students around the school using clues and interactive explanations. Working together in groups, students explored different areas of the campus, developing teamwork and problem solving skills as they collaborated to identify each location. I felt very proud to see all the new students become more confident and talkative. We then went back to the staff lounge, ending the jumpstart with some small conversations before the students headed off to class with their buddies. Overall, through the jumpstart programme, I felt that we, as CAmbassadors not only helped new students feel more welcomed and supported on their very first day, but also developed our own communication and leadership skills by learning how to connect and guide on our own.
Year 11 students explored the distinction between two closely related yet contrasting concepts—perfectionism and excellence during a recent Personal Pathway lesson. While perfectionism is often associated with striving to be the best and avoiding mistakes, excellence focuses on doing one’s best while embracing growth and learning from challenges.
The session highlighted the potential drawbacks of perfectionism, including fear of failure, reluctance to take risks, difficulty accepting flaws, a need for control, overthinking and unrealistic expectations. These tendencies can often lead to stress, burnout and a lack of self-compassion. To illustrate this, a real-life example was shared about a person who imposed rigid study routines and strict rules on herself, only to experience emotional exhaustion when her expectations were not met.
In contrast, the inspiring journey of Nick Vujicic was presented as an example of how self-acceptance and resilience can lead to a meaningful and fulfilling life. His story encouraged students to reflect on shifting their mindset from “I am not good enough” to striving for excellence. When this question was posed, the room fell into a thoughtful silence, reflecting the depth of students’ engagement.
Students were also invited to consider the meaning of success. It was discussed that defining success purely through outcomes such as material possessions, appearance or status can reinforce perfectionistic tendencies. In contrast, focusing on effort, personal values and contribution to society allows individuals to develop a stronger sense of purpose and fulfilment.
The talk concluded with a simple yet powerful affirmation, encouraging students to acknowledge “I am good enough” by having a pat on their back. As Carl Rogers aptly stated, “The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.”
I was absolutely electrified to participate in Expop from October 2025 to April 2026. Expop is an online entrepreneurship challenge for secondary students aged 13–19. It runs over six months and guides students through the process of creating a startup or business idea.
It's been a journey that served as a transformative venture and allowed me to drastically expand my entrepreneurial mindset and professional capabilities. During these months, I pioneered the development of ReDNA, a fragrance brand built on the powerful philosophy that identity is fluid and that scent is a vital tool for self-expression.
My primary vision for ReDNA was to create a truly unique experience for my customers. I wanted to move beyond the traditional retail model to offer a bespoke journey where every individual could use scent to narrate their own evolving story. Building this brand from its inception required me to think far beyond the fragrance itself, focusing on crafting a compelling narrative and a holistic customer experience that resonates with a modern, global audience.
However, this journey was not without its significant challenges. At several points, I faced hurdles in refining my brand’s core message and navigating the complexities of market positioning. I overcame these obstacles through rigorous strategic problem-solving and a commitment to adaptability, learning to pivot my strategy whenever a particular approach didn't yield the desired results. This process of trial and error was demanding, but it ultimately fortified my resilience and sharpened my creative insight.
A major highlight of this experience was the incredible opportunity to meet two successful founders from the United States. The journey reached a high point when I delivered a formal pitch directly to one of these industry leaders. This was an intense, high-stakes moment that pushed me to communicate my vision with absolute clarity and defend my brand strategy under pressure.
Ranking in the top 10 out of a competitive group of 200 global students was a proud milestone for me. However, the most lasting reward is the confidence and professional growth I have gained. I look forward to growing ReDNA further and applying these lessons to my future academic and professional projects.
Finally, I would like to express my sincere appreciation to Ms. Roshini, my Business Studies teacher, for her support and for giving me this incredible opportunity.

In Year 6, we recently celebrated our IPC learning by hosting an amazing Exit Point to complete our unit called ‘Full Power’. The Exit Point was the culmination of several weeks of learning around the topic of electricity.
Parents were invited to join us and they turned up in great numbers to share in our celebration. Students took the opportunity to present their knowledge by first delivering wonderful, fact-filled, group presentations. These were then followed by amazing exhibitions and demonstrations to illustrate the many skills that have been acquired.
The Full Power unit is one of the more popular units in the Year 6 IPC curriculum. Throughout the unit we learned so much about electricity and how it is used to power almost every aspect of our lives. As scientists, we investigated how electricity flows in different circuits, different materials that make good electrical conductors and insulators, explored new inventions that use renewable energy to generate electricity and how to be safe around electricity. As historians, we found out about the significant contributions of various scientists in the history of electricity. As designers and innovators, we harnessed the power of electricity to create games.
We also learned about how electricity has directly and indirectly impacted our lives, and ways in which electricity is connected to climate change.
We had a magical start to our new IEYC unit, “My Toy Shop”, last week! The excitement began when we received a mysterious letter from a toy maker, asking the children for their help in looking after his precious toys while he was away. To complete their mission, each child was given a special key marked with a unique shape. Our young explorers then set off on a quest to find the door that matched their key. There was a real sense of wonder in the air as they “unlocked” the doors to reveal something truly special: a series of toy shops right inside our classrooms!
What made this experience so unique was the international flair of our shops. The children had the opportunity to explore toys and play traditions from all around the world, including Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Japan, China, the UK, and Pakistan. It was a joy to watch the children discover how play connects us all, regardless of where we are from. Whether they were examining traditional crafts or modern favourites, their curiosity was endless.
To extend this learning into real-world kindness, we are also launching a toy donation drive as part of our ‘Taking Action’ initiative. We invite our families to contribute used toys to help share the joy of play with others; please refer to the attached poster for more details on how you can support this wonderful cause. We are so excited to see where our play takes us next!
Primary Parent Teacher Conference (PTC) Day will take place on Thursday 30th July.
As Parent Teacher Conferences will be conducted throughout the day, there will be no regular classes for Primary students. Students are only required to attend school if accompanying their parents for their scheduled conference appointment.
As this will be the first time the primary section closes for the day to facilitate PTCs, we greatly appreciate the support and understanding of our parent community as we continue to strengthen meaningful home school communication and partnership in supporting student learning and development. This adjustment has been made following parent feedback, allowing for slightly longer appointment times to support more purposeful and detailed conversations regarding student progress and wellbeing.
Further details, including conference booking arrangements, will be shared closer to the date. In the meantime, we kindly ask families to save the date.
Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.
We would like to remind you that school photographs for 2026 will take place on the following dates:
• Early Years & Primary: Monday 11th May – Thursday 14th May
• Secondary: Monday 18th May – Thursday 21st May
As such, please ensure that your child attends school in full school uniform with neat grooming.
