Dear TISPC community,
It has been another busy week at TISPC, with opportunities to strengthen our school community, celebrate student initiative and continue building strong partnerships with our families.
We would also like to thank our entire school community for the flexibility, understanding and support shown when we needed to move to online learning at short notice owing to the haze. We appreciate how quickly our students, parents and staff adapted to the change, helping learning to continue with minimal disruption. Your cooperation and positive response made the transition much smoother and we are grateful for the way our community has come together during this time.
Across Taylor’s Schools, colleagues came together at GIS for a strategy meeting, providing an opportunity to connect our wider priorities and consider how we continue to develop our schools. Closer to home, we are reinforcing the importance of strong communication between school and families as we work together to safeguard our students. We also look forward to bringing our community together through our Christmas Giftbox Drive, an opportunity to share the spirit of giving and spread some festive cheer.
In secondary, students have been putting their creativity and enterprise into action, from the focus and patience involved in diamond painting to developing business ideas and turning them into real world sales. We also invite KS3 and KS4 families to join our upcoming Partnering with Parents: A School Conversation, an opportunity to strengthen communication and share questions in advance.
In primary, our community continues to show care and generosity through another heartfelt initiative. Students are also exploring important aspects of their personal development through our puberty talk, Growing Up with Confidence, while families are reminded to take note of the upcoming key dates.
This week’s newsletter also includes information about the Tek Mart Online Parent Briefing and the latest Cezar's Kitchen updates. Happy reading!
Best wishes,
Jane
Last week, Principals, Heads of Primary and Heads of Secondary from across Taylor’s Schools, including our new colleagues from Thailand, came together with the Taylor’s Schools team, led by our CEO, Angelina, for an important strategy meeting focused on our shared future as a group.
The meeting provided a valuable opportunity for professional dialogue, bringing together colleagues with a shared commitment to putting learners first. Through open discussion and the exchange of ideas, we explored our collective purpose, the values that unite our schools and the vision we want to shape for the future of Taylor’s Schools.
Our conversations centred on the key elements of an excellent education: strong academic outcomes, rich opportunities for students to discover their interests and develop their talents, inclusive environments where every learner can thrive, and school communities in which students, families and staff feel a genuine sense of belonging.
While each of our schools has its own identity and community, we share a common ambition to provide an education that prepares our learners for the future and enables them to flourish both within and beyond the classroom. Coming together as a group allows us to learn from one another, build on our collective strengths and create greater alignment in the experiences we offer our students.
An important outcome of our discussions was our contribution to shaping the new Taylor’s Schools vision, mission and purpose. This work will help guide our strategic direction and strengthen our shared commitment to the learners and communities we serve.
We look forward to sharing more about our evolving vision and the next steps in this exciting journey as we continue working together to shape the future of Taylor’s Schools.
The Interact Club of TISPC is delighted to announce our Christmas Gift Box Drive, a meaningful initiative that embodies many of the values we hold dear here at TISPC: kindness, empathy and community spirit.
This year, the whole school will have the opportunity to come together to support 70 underprivileged students from a local public school, identified as part of the B40 group. These children are in need of basic items for school such as stationery, storybooks, school bags, educational toys, and other age-appropriate gifts.
Each class from Year 1 to Year 10 and other departments in the school will be given a box, along with the age and gender of one child to support. Students are encouraged to contribute at least one suitable item to their class box by Friday 30th October. Together, each class will create a
thoughtful gift for a child in need. We will be delivering the completed gift boxes in November, and we hope to make this a truly heartwarming occasion for both our students and the recipients. Please refer to the list of recommended and non-suitable items to guide your contributions.
Thank you for your generosity and for helping our students experience the joy of giving this festive season. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of others.
English version:
In early October, the school held a Mandarin-speaking parent engagement session to share information about the school’s communication channels and daily operational arrangements. The session aimed to help parents gain a better understanding of the school and settle more comfortably into the new learning environment.
Following the session, the school also shared the Chinese version of its Child Protection Policy to help parents better understand the measures in place to safeguard students’ safety and well-being.
Attached are the Chinese explanation of the school’s Child Protection Policy and an introductory poster featuring the key members of the Designated Deputy Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) team. These resources help parents familiarise themselves with the relevant staff members and understand whom to approach if they have any child protection concerns or require assistance. Parents may also refer to the full version of the policy for further information.
The school believes that safeguarding children is a shared responsibility across the entire school community. We encourage everyone to play an active role in creating a safe, caring and respectful school environment. Any concerns relating to child protection will be taken seriously and followed up appropriately.
Through sharing this information, we hope to further strengthen communication and collaboration between the school and families, working together to safeguard the well-being and safety of every student.
Diamond Painting CCA provides students with a relaxing and creative one-hour session in which they create colourful designs by carefully placing tiny resin “diamonds” onto a coded canvas. Students begin by selecting their colours and understanding the pattern, then work patiently to complete sections of their artwork.
Beyond creativity, diamond painting helps develop fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, concentration and attention to detail. The repetitive and focused nature of the activity can also encourage mindfulness, patience and emotional regulation, providing students with a calming break from academic demands. As they gradually see their artwork take shape, students can experience a sense of achievement and satisfaction while building confidence and supporting their positive mental well-being.
The Year 10 Business Studies students embarked on an exciting entrepreneurial journey from Term 1, with 13 groups turning classroom learning into real business experiences. Throughout the project, students developed business plans, designed questionnaires, analysed market research and created advertising and 4Ps marketing mix posters to prepare for the ultimate challenge: the Young Entrepreneur Competition 2026.
On 14th October, the school came alive with student-run business stalls during lunchtime! Students put their entrepreneurial skills to the test by promoting products, engaging customers, handling sales and experiencing the challenges of running a business. Teachers joined in as investors, each given investment money to support groups that delivered the most compelling business pitches.
The competition concluded with students preparing financial statements, calculating business costs and reflecting on their entrepreneurial experiences. Four awards will be presented to recognise Top Profit Earner, Investor’s Choice, Customer Service Excellence and Digital
Marketing Excellence. Beyond profits and sales, the project emphasised creativity, teamwork, financial literacy and social responsibility. Once all business costs have been calculated by the students, all profits will be donated to an animal shelter, demonstrating how entrepreneurship can make a positive difference in the community.
From planning to pitching, and from marketing to money management, our young entrepreneurs have gained valuable insights into the real world of business!
We warmly invite you to join us for the Partnering with Parents: A School Conversation - KS3 & KS4 which will be held on:
Date: Friday 23rd October, 2026
Time: 8.30am - 9.30am
Location: Staff Lounge, Level 2 Admin Block
If you’re interested in joining this session, please register your attendance by 21.10.26.
Thank you & have a pleasant day ahead.
What an astounding response right at the soft launch of this major initiative by our Student Council during the Family Day event! Choosing hands-on responsibility over relaxing during break and lunch, our dedicated student leaders are rolling up their sleeves to sort fabrics, take charge, and protect Mother Earth.
The environmental toll of textile waste is immense. The global fashion industry accounts for nearly 10% of global carbon emissions and generates over 90 million tons of waste annually, much of which ends up in landfills. By championing UN Sustainable Development Goal 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), our children are proving that pre-loved clothes deserve a second life rather than a spot in a landfill.
Through our partnership with UNIQLO’s "The Power of Clothing Project," every piece collected goes straight to making a real-world difference, bringing warmth, dignity, and direct aid to refugee camps, homeless individuals, and underserved B40 communities across Malaysia.
Small hands, big hearts! Our kids are turning empathy into action, so let’s give their hard work the ultimate boost!
Key Dates Reminder
Last Collection Date: by Friday 30th October (Drop-off points: Roundabout, Point A, and Atrium)
Handover Session: Friday 13th November (A brief visit to MRA centre and serve the community with our collected donations)
Let’s rally behind our children’s amazing passion, clear out our closets, and show what a united community can do for the planet and those in need!
On 13th October, our school counsellors kicked off the Puberty Talk series with our Year 5 students through an online session, followed by an in-person session with Year 4 students on 14th October. The sessions introduced students to some of the physical and emotional changes they may experience during puberty, helping them understand what to expect as they grow.
Our students were engaged and interactive throughout the sessions, actively participating in discussions and asking questions about the changes they may experience. They also openly shared their feelings about learning about puberty, creating opportunities to acknowledge that growing up can bring a mix of emotions and that everyone develops at their own pace. In addition to learning about physical changes, students were encouraged to recognise and manage their emotions and understand the importance of personal boundaries.
Through these conversations, we hope to create a safe and supportive space where students feel comfortable learning about growing up, expressing their feelings, asking questions, and seeking guidance from trusted adults when needed.
We are pleased to inform you that Tek Mart will be conducting three online sessions for parents to learn more about Tek Mart and to provide guidance on how to use their system.
You are welcome to join any one of the sessions. We encourage you to attend one of these sessions to familiarise yourself with the system and understand the purchasing process.
