Dear TISPC community,
It has been another busy and exciting couple of weeks at TISPC, with plenty to celebrate across our school community. From the excitement building around our first ever Family Day to preparations for our Primary musical, The Wizard of Oz, there is a real sense of energy across the school.
Our students have also been making the most of opportunities to learn, lead and connect. In secondary, our Year 11 ESL students took the lead in their learning through a student led IGCSE workshop, while our Year 6 students experienced a taste of secondary learning as part of their transition day. We also celebrate sporting success in Vietnam, enterprise learning beyond the classroom and the creativity of our Book Club students.
In primary, students have been building connections across the school through collaboration with secondary students, while our Chinese handpen writing competition provided an opportunity to celebrate the beauty of Chinese characters and develop students’ appreciation of language and culture.
We also have several important updates for families this week, including information about our move towards cashless payments, pick up arrangements and the latest Cezars Kitchen updates.
We hope you enjoy reading about the learning, achievements and opportunities taking place across TISPC.
Remember that there's no school on Monday as it's a scheduled school holiday. IGCSE examinations will continue a planned though.
Best wishes,
Jane

Mandarin Teach-Meet 2026 Connecting, Sharing and Growing together
The Mandarin Team at Taylor’s International School Puchong was delighted to organise Mandarin Teach-Meet 2026, bringing together Mandarin educators for a morning of professional learning, collaboration and sharing.
With the theme “Future-Ready Mandarin Classrooms,” participants explored practical teaching strategies, creative classroom approaches, and innovative ways to enhance Mandarin learning. A key highlight was the sharing of AI tools and educational technology, with speakers generously sharing their experiences, resources and ideas for teachers to apply in their own classrooms.
We were inspired by the enthusiasm, active participation and thoughtful discussions throughout the event. A heartfelt thank you to all our speakers for sharing their knowledge and experiences, and to all the teachers who joined us and contributed to the conversations.
We hope the connections made and ideas exchanged will continue to inspire teachers and enrich Mandarin learning.
Together, we learn. Together, we grow. Together, we inspire future-ready Mandarin classrooms.
A Day to Remember: Family Day
Family Day was definitely one of those days we won’t forget! The school was filled with amazing food, fun games, exciting activities, performances, and, of course, lots of laughter. It was great seeing students, teachers, parents, and families all coming together and enjoying the day.
For some of us, the best part was simply spending time with our friends. We got to walk around together, try different foods, play games, and enjoy all the activities around school. I especially enjoyed buying different foods and helping out with the younger children at the bouncy castle. Seeing the little ones having so much fun made the day even more enjoyable.
Personally for me, one of the biggest highlights was going through the Haunted House with her friends. Between all the jumpscares, screaming, and laughing, it became one of those moments that was even more fun because we experienced it together. Another special memory was performing a duet with her friend, making the day even more personal and memorable.
Furthermore, I enjoyed exploring all the different stalls and activities, especially the games in the MPH. One of her favourite moments was trying out the football game with her friends and attempting to get the ball into the correct pocket. The performances were also a highlight, especially seeing parents perform alongside their children. It was a really sweet and heartwarming part of the day.
There was so much happening throughout Family Day, from the 27 food and beverage stalls to the arts and crafts booths, interactive activities, mini games, Haunted House, performances, and bouncy castle. Every year group put in a lot of effort to make their stalls and activities exciting, and it was great seeing everyone’s hard work come together.
But more than anything, Family Day was about the memories we made. Whether it was sharing food with friends, screaming in the Haunted House, performing on stage, trying to win a game, or helping out with the younger kids, everyone had their own special moment.
It was a day filled with fun, friendship, teamwork, and plenty of unforgettable memories, definitely a Family Day to remember! We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to our dedicated staff and student volunteers who worked tirelessly to make the day possible. Your efforts ensured smooth coordination, safety and memorable experiences for everyone. Thank you so much to the TISPC community for coming along to raise funds for good causes. Once we complete all the accounts for the day, we'll share how much we managed to raise for charities.
Jiyu (10P):
Our school's Family Day was a fun and memorable event where students, families, friends and teachers came together to enjoy games, food and activities. My favourite part was buying different foods and helping out with the children at the bouncy castle. I was enlightened to see everyone having such a great time.
Charmaine (10P):
This family day has been a blast for me. I’ve managed to spend so much time with my friends doing so many activities. For example, getting food and trying out different games. The memory that stuck with me the most was definitely when I went to the haunted house with my friends. We all had the time of our lives having fun and getting scared by all the jumpscares. It was so much fun to experience this with my friends. Another memory that stuck with me was my duet with my friend.
Samantha (10U):
This family day contained many different shops and activities. The different year groups really put in a lot of effort in organising and selling goods. I loved the activities set up in the MPH, there were many varieties of games for different ages such as the football stand. I had a lot of fun with my friends attempting to get the ball in the correct pocket. The shows, and people performing were very interesting especially because parents got to perform with their child. It was a really touching and heartwarming experience.
As part of their preparation for the forthcoming IGCSE examinations, our Year 11 ESL students recently took an active role in consolidating and extending their learning through a student led workshop.
Students selected key areas of the ESL course to revisit, identifying strategies that they felt would be useful to their peers. They then applied their understanding by preparing and delivering presentations covering different question types, essay structures, useful language, examination techniques and effective planning strategies. Comparing sample essays also gave students the opportunity to evaluate different approaches and consider what makes a response effective.
The workshop provided opportunities for students to revisit key skills and apply, explain and evaluate their understanding. Interactive pair and group activities allowed participants to put strategies into practice, discuss their thinking and learn from one another.
By taking responsibility for leading parts of the workshop, students also developed their communication, organisation and collaboration skills while building greater confidence in articulating their understanding. This student led approach reinforced the importance of active participation and reflection as students prepare for their IGCSE examinations.
We would like to thank the Head of English, Ms Jessica, Year 11 ESL teachers Ms Anita, Ms Wendy, Ms Hindu, Mr Sashi and Ms Rowena, together with our student facilitators, for their guidance and support.
We wish our Year 11 cohort every success in their upcoming IGCSE examinations!
Our Year 6 students took an important step towards secondary learning during Transition Day on 22nd September, experiencing a full day of lessons within the secondary environment.
Across science, mathematics, ICT, design & technology and humanities, students were introduced to different approaches to learning and had opportunities to apply their knowledge through practical and subject specific activities. Working with future teachers also gave them a chance to experience the expectations, routines and independence that come with learning in secondary school.
The day encouraged students to approach unfamiliar learning with curiosity, ask questions and adapt to different subjects and teachers. It also helped them make connections between the skills they have developed in primary and how these will be applied and extended as they move into secondary.
Transition Day provided a valuable opportunity for students to develop confidence in approaching this next stage of their learning journey and to begin thinking about themselves as secondary learners.
Last week, our Book Club students combined reading and creativity through a personalised bookmark activity. Students explored different designs before creating their own bookmarks, incorporating favourite quotes, words and ideas that reflected their individual interests.
The activity encouraged students to think about their personal connection with reading while expressing themselves through art and design. As they developed their ideas, students also shared their choices with one another, giving them an opportunity to communicate their interests and discover what others enjoy reading.
By creating something they can use in their own books, students were encouraged to see reading as a personal and enjoyable experience, while developing creativity, self expression and a sense of ownership over their reading.
Our Under 15 volleyball teams travelled to Vietnam last week for the prestigious South Saigon International School tournament. They faced strong opposition from schools across Malaysia, China, Korea, Thailand, Singapore and Vietnam.
Building on their FOBISIA championship success last term, the boys played superbly throughout the tournament. They reached the Cup final and produced another outstanding performance to finish as runners-up.
The girls also gave us plenty to celebrate. They battled their way to the Plate final and won it to become Plate champions!! Both teams represented TISP with skill, determination and pride.
A special thank you goes to Ms Julie and Mr Zul for the time and commitment they have put into training the teams. Thank you also to Mr Jason, who was an excellent addition to the staff team on the trip. Congratulations to everyone involved!
On Tuesday 29th September, 40 Year 10 Enterprise students visited Farm Fresh UPM, the Vitagen Factory and Bursa Malaysia to explore how different sectors of the economy work together. The trip gave students an opportunity to apply concepts from their IGCSE Accounting, Business and Economics studies to real businesses and industries.
At Farm Fresh UPM, students explored the primary sector, examining how agriculture, dairy farming and animal husbandry provide the raw materials that businesses depend on. They considered how natural resources become inputs for further production and how primary industries contribute to the wider economy.
At the Vitagen Factory, students followed this process into the secondary sector, observing how raw materials are transformed into finished products. They explored manufacturing processes, quality control, packaging and value added, helping them understand how businesses use resources and production methods to meet consumer needs.
The visit to Bursa Malaysia then introduced students to the tertiary sector and the role of financial services in supporting business activity. Students learned how companies can raise capital through the stock market and considered how access to finance can support business growth and expansion.
By visiting all three settings, students were able to make connections between the primary, secondary and tertiary sectors and see how they are interdependent. They also had opportunities to ask questions, observe business practices and apply their classroom knowledge to real world contexts.
The trip strengthened students’ understanding of how businesses operate within the wider economy while developing their communication, teamwork and enterprise skills. From farm to factory to finance, it was a valuable opportunity to see their learning in action.
New to IPC/IEYC & Seesaw Parent Session
Each term, we welcome our new families through our New to IPC & IEYC session, giving parents an introduction to how these approaches shape learning across primary and what their children can expect throughout their learning journey.
The session explored how learning is connected across different subjects through themes and inquiry, encouraging students to make connections, ask questions and apply their understanding in different contexts. Parents also learned more about how learning experiences are shared through Seesaw and how they can use the platform to stay connected with their child’s learning.
The session concluded with a Q&A, giving parents an opportunity to ask questions about the curriculum, learning experiences, and how they can support their children at home.
It was a valuable opportunity to strengthen the partnership between home and school and help our new families understand how we support children to become curious, independent and engaged learners.
It all started when a few secondary students were spotted peeping through the Early Years windows and hanging out and playing just outside the classrooms. Seeing their interest, we invited them inside during lunchtime to spend some real time playing and connecting with our youngest learners.
What followed was wonderful to watch. For the secondary students, it gave them a chance to step away from their normal routine, unwind, and learn how to connect with younger children through simple play. For our Early Years kids, having older students around did wonders for their vocabulary and gave them someone new and exciting to learn from.
With exams right around the corner, this week is their last with Early Years for now. On Wednesday 23rd September, we took some time to properly thank the secondary students for giving up their lunch breaks and bringing so much energy to the sessions.
The programme was such a hit that we've already had emails from secondary students asking if it will continue next year and how soon they can sign up again. A huge thank you to everyone involved for making it such a success!
The Mandarin Department organised a Chinese Hard-Pen Calligraphy Competition (中文硬笔书法比赛) to encourage students to appreciate the beauty of Chinese characters and develop neat, accurate handwriting through careful practice.
Students responded with great enthusiasm and engagement. They demonstrated excellent concentration, patience and pride in their work, with many showing a strong desire to improve their handwriting.
The competition also gave students an opportunity to deepen their appreciation of Chinese language and culture through the art of writing. We were delighted to see such positive participation from our students.
Congratulations to all the winners of the Chinese Hard-Pen Calligraphy Competition! We are proud of your dedication, effort and beautiful handwriting, and we hope this achievement inspires you to continue practising and enjoying the beauty of Chinese characters.
