Over the holidays, I was selected to take part in the World Vision “Voice of a Child” Public Speaking Competition, where I placed second. The competition was held on August 22nd earlier this year and was organised by World Vision. A global organisation working alongside communities to support areas like education, healthcare, clean water and economic opportunities. The event was held at HELP University, where they kindly provided the venue. I was the youngest candidate to attend in my age category. It was truly an experience I will never forget. This competition improved my confidence, communication and presentation skills. I am extremely grateful to World Vision and Taylors for giving me this chance to strive for excellence beyond school.

From 15th to 18th August, Jun Ning (10O) represented the school and Malaysia at the prestigious Harvard Model United Nations China in Guangzhou, China, an international conference bringing together around 650 aspiring young leaders and diplomats from 44 countries around the world.
Representing Ireland in the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Jun Ning engaged in four days of intensive debate and diplomatic collaboration. She tackled pressing global issues surrounding European cybersecurity, working alongside over 40 delegates in a highly competitive committee.
With only seven delegates receiving awards, Jun Ning was honoured with an Honourable Mention Award, recognising her outstanding contribution to committee proceedings.
Beyond the award, the conference provided Jun Ning with an invaluable opportunity to develop her skills in international relations and leadership, while exchanging perspectives with students from diverse cultural backgrounds. The conference further strengthened her understanding of global cybersecurity challenges and provided an enriching opportunity to connect and collaborate with young leaders from around the world.
Our school community came together this week to celebrate Merdeka and Malaysia Day, with special assemblies in both primary and secondary highlighting the diversity, culture and unity that make Malaysia such a special place to live and learn.
Across both celebrations, our students explored what it means to belong to a multicultural community and how our different backgrounds, cultures and traditions can bring us together. From traditional performances and Malaysian food to history, quizzes, music and student reflections, the celebrations gave students an opportunity to learn about and appreciate the many different aspects of our shared national identity.
In primary, each year group contributed to the celebrations in their own way. Early Years explored how our differences make our community colourful and complete, while Year 2 celebrated Malaysia's diverse food culture and Year 3 shared their thoughts on unity. Year 1 presented a Cultural Walk showcasing traditional Malaysian attire, Year 4 explored the history of Merdeka and led the school in a spirited Merdeka chant, and Year 5 tested everyone's Malaysian knowledge with a fun trivia quiz. Year 6 brought the celebrations to a lively close with a Dikir Barat performance that had the audience clapping along. Our students also created Malaysian-themed artwork throughout the week.
In secondary, 7H presented a thoughtful skit entitled “Different Roots: One Home”, exploring how students from different backgrounds can come together as one community. Through the performance, Alina, Reyansh, Ja Qian, Karthikesh, Ariff Miqael and Yoogeon highlighted the importance of respect, friendship, understanding and unity. The participation of a student from an international background added another perspective, reinforcing the message that our differences can be celebrated while we share a common sense of belonging.
We were delighted to welcome so many parents to our celebration and are grateful to everyone who supported the events. A special thank you to our students, teachers, emcees and parent community for helping to make the celebrations such a positive reflection of the diverse and inclusive community we are proud to have at TISPC.
Different roots, different cultures and different traditions, but one school community and one shared sense of belonging.
Selamat Hari Merdeka dan Selamat Hari Malaysia!
Starting at a new school can bring a mixture of excitement, curiosity and uncertainty. To help our new students settle in, build confidence and begin to feel part of the TISPC community, our school counsellors ran Jump Start 2026 across both primary and secondary, with the support of our CAmbassadors.
While the programmes were tailored to the needs of each section, the aim was the same: to help our new students feel welcomed, build connections and become familiar with their new environment. Through a range of engaging activities, students had the opportunity to meet others, share their experiences of starting somewhere new and talk about the feelings that can come with joining a new school. They were reminded that feeling excited, nervous, worried or curious is a natural part of adjusting to a new environment.
Our CAmbassadors played an important role in welcoming the new students and helping them find their way around the school. They introduced them to key areas and facilities, helped them become more familiar with the campus and provided a friendly face as they began their first days at TISPC. Students were also introduced to the support available within school and encouraged to ask for help whenever they need it.
Jumpstart reflects our whole school approach to helping every new student feel a sense of belonging from the moment they join us. We are delighted to welcome our new students and look forward to seeing them settle in, build friendships and make the most of the opportunities ahead.
Welcome to TISPC and to the start of an exciting term 3!
It's time for our annual Parent Survey. Your feedback plays a vital role in shaping the direction of our school. It helps us understand what we’re doing well, where we can improve and how we can continue to offer the best possible experience for our students and families. Your voice matters.
As part of the survey, you will see a question related to the Net Promoter Score (NPS), a widely used measure that helps organisations assess satisfaction, loyalty and overall sentiment. The question asks: “On a scale from 0 to 10, how likely are you to recommend our school to a friend or colleague?” NOTE: If your child is generally happy coming to school, please rate 9 or 10 because if you put 7 or 8, your score is not counted.
It’s important to know how NPS is calculated:
● Scores of 9 or 10 are considered Promoters
● Scores of 7 or 8 are considered Passive (not counted in the score)
● Scores of 6 or below are considered Detractors
The final NPS is calculated by subtracting the percentage of Detractors from the percentage of Promoters. Scores range from -100 to +100, with higher scores reflecting greater overall satisfaction.
We sincerely appreciate your time and participation in the survey. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us plan ahead, identify areas for development, and continuously improve as a learning community. We look forward to hearing your thoughts and suggestions.
We are happy to announce that applications are now open for the Taylor’s IGCSE Scholarship Programme for students joining Year 10 in January 2027. This prestigious two-year scholarship offers students the opportunity to be part of the vibrant learning communities at our Kuala Lumpur and Puchong campuses.
If you are driven by curiosity, academic ambition and a passion for discovery, your journey starts here!
On 4th September 2026, the Interact Club of TISPC hosted an International Understanding (IU) Day titled “Clues in the Chaos” for the Year 7 students. The event aimed to promote cultural diversity and appreciation, encourage students to look beyond differences in beliefs and backgrounds, and develop teamwork, logical thinking, and analytical skills. These objectives were achieved through an engaging mystery investigation that transformed classrooms into interactive investigation sites, where students explored clues linked to different cultures.
The Year 7 students were divided into two groups, 7X and 7Y, to participate in the event. At the beginning of the 7Y session, Rotarian President Lim Poh Huu delivered an inspiring speech on the importance of International Understanding and how it can be applied in our everyday lives.
Each class received a briefing on the investigation storyline. A fictional bank had been robbed during an international gala, with the valuable Spanish Sun Disc artifact reported missing. Three suspects from different cultural backgrounds were identified by the police. Students were
provided with investigation folders containing information about the suspects, including details of their backgrounds, habits, and cultural practices. Their challenge was to use the clues provided to answer four questions and solve the case. The class with the most accurate answers at the end of each session was declared the winner and received a prize.
The event consisted of four rotating investigation rooms: the Café, Storage Room, Office, and Staff Lounge. Each room was carefully designed and managed by dedicated Interact Club members. Every room featured its own set of objectives, clues, puzzles and questions. Students had to work collaboratively, analyse the information in their folders, and identify connections between the suspects' habits and cultural backgrounds to determine who was responsible for the theft.
Throughout the investigation, students encountered a variety of fun and interactive puzzles that gradually revealed new clues and helped them piece together the mystery. Some puzzles could only be solved by carefully considering the cultural practices and habits associated with each suspect. This provided students with an engaging way to develop their understanding of different cultures while also strengthening their logical reasoning, observation, communication, and teamwork skills.
At the end of each session, the completed investigation folders were collected and the results were shared with the students. Small snack bags were presented to the winning classes as a token of appreciation for their participation and teamwork. The event also provided an opportunity to introduce the Interact Club to the Year 7 students, with several students expressing interest in joining the club in the future.
Through “Clues in the Chaos,” the Interact Club hoped to demonstrate that International Understanding is not simply about learning about different cultures, but also about appreciating diversity, being open-minded, and working respectfully with others. The event successfully combined learning, teamwork and fun while encouraging students to recognise the value of understanding and respecting people from different backgrounds.

UKMT Junior Mathematical Olympiad 2026
The Junior Mathematical Olympiad (JMO) is organised by the United Kingdom Mathematics Trust (UKMT), one of the most respected providers of mathematics competitions in the world. The JMO is a two-hour paper of demanding, non-routine problems that rewards creative thinking and full written mathematical reasoning, giving our young mathematicians an early experience of true Olympiad-style problem solving. Taking on a paper of this standard is an achievement in itself.
On 5 August 2026, our school community gathered to celebrate the eighteen students who represented Taylor’s International School Puchong in this year’s Olympiad. School leaders and the Mathematics Department joined the award ceremony to present certificates and to recognise the dedication these young mathematicians have shown.
We are delighted to announce the following awards:
Certificate of Distinction & Best in School — Yashwant (Year 7)
Certificate of Merit & Best in Year 8 — Zihang
Certificate of Merit — Shi Yu (Year 7), Alexis (Year 8), Aryan (Year 8) and Keding (Year 8)
Congratulations to all six award recipients. Their success reflects curiosity, discipline and a real love of problem-solving, and the whole school is proud of them.
Every student who stepped up to the Olympiad deserves recognition. We warmly congratulate our Certificate of Participation recipients: Qi Yuan (Year 7), Yen Ming (Year 7), Shi-Jian (Year 7), Justin (Year 8), Sihan (Year 8), Qian Xi (Year 8), Wayjay (Year 8), Avinash (Year 8), Taichi (Year 8), Rakhtaaj (Year 8), Shulun (Year 8) and Zen Yu (Year 8). Competing at Olympiad level takes courage, and each of them represented the school admirably. Yen Ming and Taichi are not pictured.
These results reflect the depth of mathematical talent growing at Taylor’s International School Puchong, and we look forward to seeing even more of our students take on the challenge in 2027. Well done, mathematicians!
On 11th September, our secondary CAmbassadors came together for a special meeting to recognise their contributions, celebrate their achievements and look ahead to the future of the CAmbassador programme.
The meeting began with the presentation of Year 11 Completion Awards, marking the completion of their service. Certificates of Appreciation were also presented to CAmbassadors who consistently went above and beyond, supporting events and activities with enthusiasm, initiative and a willingness to help. We also welcomed our new Head of CAmbassadors, Ke Jing, and held a student vote to elect the new Assistant Head of CAmbassadors.
A heartfelt thank you to all our Year 11 CAs for their dedication and service. We wish them every success in their upcoming examinations and all the very best for the next chapter ahead!
Early Years Launch Their New "Blast Off!" Unit
Our Early Years classrooms turned into space stations this week to kick off their exciting new Blast Off unit! The children walked in to find a surprise alien crash site, a broken spaceship, and our Early Years friend Ria dressed as an astronaut alongside a mysterious secret message that everyone worked together to decode. Most of our youngest learners are already familiar with day and night from their daily routines and bedtime storybooks, but space beyond Earth is still a whole new frontier for them to discover. Over the coming weeks, they will be diving deeper into what lies beyond our atmosphere by learning about how stars shine, tracking the changing shape of the moon, and discovering the unique features of the planets in our solar system, and we look forward to seeing where this out-of-this-world learning takes our youngest astronauts!
Following a fantastic whole-school staff training session, we are delighted to be introducing the Nelson Handwriting Scheme across all of primary this term!
At our school, we believe that handwriting is a key foundational skill. Nelson Handwriting is a structured whole-school programme designed to help children develop a clear, legible and fluent writing style. Developing good handwriting habits early on helps pupils write with greater control and confidence and eventually allows them to write more quickly and effortlessly as they move up through the school.
Here is how the scheme progresses across the key stages:
Early Years (EY): Children will focus on building strong foundations, learning correct basic letter formation, pencil grip, and posture.
Key Stage 1 (KS1): Pupils will secure their basic letter formation and begin learning the four main joins to connect letters seamlessly.
Key Stage 2 (KS2): Children will focus on refining their joined handwriting, building speed, stamina, and consistency across all of their written work.
What to expect this term: All pupils will be introduced to the scheme this term starting with a series of dedicated initial lessons. Early Years and KS1 will focus on getting letter formation just right, while KS2 pupils will dive into mastering their joins.
We are really excited to see our pupils’ handwriting flourish as they get stuck into the new scheme!
This term, our Year 6 students have taken an exciting step in their digital journey as they transition into physical computing! For many of our learners, this unit marks their very first experience creating useful, real-world code that moves beyond software screens and directly controls physical hardware.
Using pocket-sized Micro:bit microcontrollers, students have been combining logic, creativity, and hardware design across a range of interactive projects:
Rock, Paper, Scissors: Programming built-in accelerometers and random number variables to create digital hand games.
Tug of LED: Applying fast-paced input button logic and conditional statements to build real-time digital tug-of-war games.
The 7-Second Game: Coding accurate timers and precise input triggers to test reaction speed and precision.
Through these activities, students are discovering how software logic directly impacts hardware behaviour. They learn that lines of code can create real-life games, physical feedback and practical tools.
Level Up!
A new chapter is just around the corner! As our Year 6 students prepare to move into Year 7 next year, our school counsellors visited their classes to deliver the Level Up programme, designed to help students prepare for their transition to secondary school.
During the sessions, students explored some of the changes they might experience, from new routines and responsibilities to adapting to a different learning environment. They also had the opportunity to reflect on what they were excited, worried or curious about as they looked ahead to Year 7, while recognising the strengths and resources they already have to help them navigate challenges and prepare for secondary school.
We hope our Year 6 students feel more prepared and confident as they look ahead to Year 7. We wish them every success as they begin this exciting new chapter!

See you at our Family Day 2026!
As we enter the influenza 'season', we are beginning to see a number of Influenza A cases across different year groups. This is not unusual at this time of year, but we would like to remind families to be alert to flu symptoms and to take some simple precautions to help reduce the spread of illness.
Influenza, or flu, is a contagious respiratory infection that can spread through coughing and sneezing, as well as through contact with contaminated surfaces. Symptoms can include fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, tiredness and headache, and can sometimes come on quite suddenly.
We kindly ask parents to keep children at home if they are unwell, particularly if they have a fever. Students who are sick will be asked to return home to rest and should remain at home for at least 24 hours after their fever has subsided without the use of medication.
We encourage families to continue good hygiene practices:
Wash hands regularly with soap and water or use hand sanitizer.
Cover the mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing, using a tissue or elbow.
Avoid sharing food, drinks or utensils.
Consider mask wearing if you feel this is appropriate for your child.
At school, we continue to:
Reinforce good hygiene and hand washing.
Maintain regular cleaning and ventilation.
Clean classrooms daily and sanitise common touch points regularly.
Monitor reported cases and attendance closely.
Arrange additional disinfection of classrooms where confirmed cases have been reported.
If your child develops flu-like symptoms, please seek medical advice and notify the school.
As haze conditions can vary throughout the day, we would like to reassure families that we are closely monitoring air quality across the school day and have clear procedures in place to protect the wellbeing of our students and staff.
TISPC has an Air Quality Index (AQI) meter on campus. The AQI reading used by our school meter is different from the Air Pollutant Index (API) used by the Malaysian authorities. We monitor the AQI reading every hour during the school day and use this alongside guidance issued by the relevant authorities to inform our decisions and actions.
If air quality reaches an unhealthy level, all outdoor activities will be moved indoors, including outdoor PE lessons and ECAs. Classrooms are equipped with air conditioning and an air purifiers to support a comfortable indoor environment. During break and lunch, students who need to purchase food from the cafeteria will do so as quickly as possible before moving to designated indoor areas or classrooms to eat.
Given the current conditions, we encourage parents and guardians to collect their children as soon as possible after their activities have ended for the day, to minimise prolonged exposure to the haze. Families who wish to do so may also provide their children with an N95 or equivalent mask to wear when appropriate.
The school will remain open unless we are directed to close by the Ministry of Education (MoE). The MoE has advised that a decision to close schools due to haze will be made when the API reaches 200 or above.
We also have contingency plans in place should the school need to close for students. In this situation, lessons will move online and follow students' usual timetable as closely as possible. For students in Year 5 and above, online learning details and lesson information will be shared through Google Classroom, while information for our younger students will be shared through Seesaw. Google Meet links will be provided so that students can join their lessons from home.
We will continue to monitor air quality throughout the school day and communicate with families should there be any significant changes or further guidance from the authorities.
We are pleased to invite you to our New to IEYC & Seesaw Workshop, where we will provide an overview of the International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC) and how it supports your child’s learning journey.
Date : 25th September, Friday
Time : 8.30 am to 9.30am
Venue : TIS Sphere, 1st Floor (Admin Block)
If you’re interested in joining this session, please register your attendance by 23/09/26
