Dear TISPC community,
Welcome back to Term 3! We hope all our families had a restful break and that everyone is ready for another busy and exciting term at TISPC.
A particularly warm welcome to all the new families who have joined us this term. We are delighted to have you as part of the TISPC family and hope you and your children have already begun to feel at home in our school community.
We also begin the term with some exciting changes to our leadership team. We are delighted to welcome Ms Etta Jameson as our new Head of Primary and Ms Amy Austin as Assistant Head of Teaching and Learning in secondary. We also congratulate Ms Hayley on her promotion to Assistant Head of Key Stage 1 and Ms Jaccy Lai on her new role as Assistant Head of Pastoral for Key Stage 4. These appointments bring new experience, ideas and energy to our leadership team, while strengthening the support we provide for our students, staff and families. Ms Jemimah Jayaraj will continue as Assistant Head of Pastoral for Key Stage 3 while Ms Latha Raveedranadhan continues her recovery. We send our very best wishes to Latha and look forward to welcoming her back soon.
Primary families will have the opportunity to meet Etta next week, hear more about her vision for primary and get to know her as she begins her role at TISPC.
Next Friday, we also look forward to coming together as a school community to celebrate Merdeka and Malaysia Day. We hope many of our families will be able to join us as we celebrate the rich diversity, culture and heritage of the wonderful country we live in.
Next week, we will also launch our Annual Parent Survey. Your feedback is an important part of helping us understand what we are doing well and where we can continue to improve. We encourage all parents and guardians to take the time to share their views and help shape the ongoing development of our school.
Looking further ahead, we are excited to welcome our wider community back to campus for Family Day 2026 on Saturday 26th September. We look forward to bringing students, families, friends and staff together for a fun day of activities and community spirit. Further details can be found at the end of this newsletter.
We are excited about the term ahead and look forward to working together with our students and families to make Term 3 another successful one.

What an achievement for both our students! Congratulations, Maxton and Lilyanne, on your fantastic performances and for flying the Malaysian flag high on the regional stage!
It's time for our annual Parent Survey. Your feedback plays a vital role in shaping the direction of our school. It helps us understand what we’re doing well, where we can improve and how we can continue to offer the best possible experience for our students and families. Your voice matters.
As part of the survey, you will see a question related to the Net Promoter Score (NPS), a widely used measure that helps organisations assess satisfaction, loyalty and overall sentiment. The question asks: “On a scale from 0 to 10, how likely are you to recommend our school to a friend or colleague?” NOTE: If your child is generally happy coming to school, please rate 9 or 10 because if you put 7 or 8, your score is not counted.
It’s important to know how NPS is calculated:
● Scores of 9 or 10 are considered Promoters
● Scores of 7 or 8 are considered Passive (not counted in the score)
● Scores of 6 or below are considered Detractors
The final NPS is calculated by subtracting the percentage of Detractors from the percentage of Promoters. Scores range from -100 to +100, with higher scores reflecting greater overall satisfaction.
Thank you for taking the time to read the information about our upcoming 2026 Annual Parent Survey. The survey link will be shared with all parents on Monday 7th September 2026.
We sincerely appreciate your time and participation in the survey. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us plan ahead, identify areas for development, and continuously improve as a learning community. We look forward to hearing your thoughts and suggestions

At the end of Term 2, our Year 6 students brought their International Primary Curriculum (IPC) unit, ‘Space Scientists’, to a stellar conclusion during our celebrated Exit Point event. Throughout this unit, learners embarked on an ambitious journey across the cosmos, acting as astronomers, physicists, and space engineers. The Exit Point provided the ultimate platform for students to take ownership of their learning, translating weeks of rigorous research, scientific enquiry, and collaborative problem-solving into an interactive exhibition.
The highlight of the event was undoubtedly the student-led presentations. Taking the stage with remarkable confidence, Year 6 shared their in-depth knowledge on topics ranging from orbital mechanics and Earth’s rotation to the complex challenges of deep-space exploration and dealing with space debris. Visitors were treated to a variety of creative displays, scale models, and digital visualisations that demonstrated not only the children’s firm grasp of key scientific concepts, but also their honed public speaking and communication skills.
We were absolutely delighted to see such a fantastic turnout of parents and guardians in attendance. Having a live audience added a wonderful energy to the event, giving our young scientists a true sense of pride as they answered thoughtful questions and demonstrated their learning firsthand. Your presence, encouragement, and continued partnership mean the world to both the students and the Year 6 teaching team. Thank you for making this celebration of learning such a memorable success.
Year 5 celebrated the successful culmination of their IPC unit, "Fascinating Forces," with an engaging Exit Point event. Students stepped into the role of expert scientists, guiding parents through their hard-earned investigations and inquiry journeys. It was a proud moment for our learners to confidently share their findings, and we would like to extend a warm thank you to all the families who attended to celebrate this milestone with us.
The event showcased the deep scientific understanding students built throughout the term as they explored the mechanics of force and motion. Visitors were treated to a range of hands-on demonstrations, including testing car designs on different surfaces to analyse the effects of friction, demonstrating parachutes to observe air resistance and gravity in action, and a range of catapults and custom-engineered boats to explore buoyancy. These experiments were more than just fun; they were an opportunity for students to apply the scientific method, testing variables and gathering data to reach conclusions about the physical world.
This unit has been a fantastic way to develop critical thinking and collaborative skills within our classroom. By tackling real-world physics problems, from predicting how surface textures affect a car’s speed to calculating the impact of air resistance on a parachute’s descent, the children developed a deeper understanding of the forces that shape the world around them. We are incredibly proud of their progress and are excited to see them bring this same curiosity and scientific rigour into our upcoming IPC units.
Year 3’s Island Life Exit Point
Our Year 3 learners had the pleasure of welcoming parents to our parent-student collaboration activity earlier in our Island Life unit and used many of their learning and exhibition skills from that day as Year 2 came up to level 1 to be our esteemed guests for our exit point.
Our Year 3’s displayed their map reading skills, including how to read a key and explained intermediate and cardinal directions. They exhibited the dioramas they had constructed alongside their groupmates and parents, and used them to lead a discussion on the various physical and human features on their island.
Learners also explained the threats facing islands around the world today and what action we can take to better protect communities, wildlife and coral reefs around islands.
It was a pleasure to present to our esteemed guests, both during the parent-student collaboration task and during our exit point.
