Dear TISPC community,
This week's newsletter celebrates the many ways our students continue to grow as learners, leaders and members of our school community. We begin by recognising the outstanding achievements of our Year 9 athletes who proudly represented Malaysia on the international stage, demonstrating dedication, perseverance and sporting excellence.
Across the school, we share highlights from our recent Student Voice meetings, where new primary and secondary students reflected on their experiences, offering valuable feedback and thoughtful ideas that will help shape the future of our school. We also celebrate Wellbeing Week 2026, centred around the theme "Resilience: Together We Rise Stronger Through Challenges," as well as the important contributions of our International Week CAmbassadors, the success of this year's Sports Days and updates from our recent cafeteria and school transport surveys. We also wish our Taylor's students every success as they prepare to compete in the MRAC 2026 Finals.
In secondary, students continued extending their learning beyond the classroom through a Year 11 educational visit to the Yakult factory, discovering how science, technology and business come together in industry. We also feature staff professional development through our Masterclass programme, student participation in the National Science Challenge and the growing popularity of our Ultimate Frisbee Club.
In primary, we celebrate the enthusiasm and House spirit displayed during the KS1 and KS2 Sports Days, showcase the Year 1 My Timeline family collaboration project, highlight the generosity of our Primary Student Council through their food and clothing drive in support of the wider community and share how we are helping students become safe, responsible and respectful digital citizens through our online safety and digital citizenship assembly.
Finally, we encourage all families to read the important notices in this edition, including an opportunity to meet our incoming Head of Primary, details of the new ad hoc after school programme launching in Term 3, reminders regarding campus access, updates on our additional school transport provider, information about the additional school photograph session, our new uniform and bookstore provider, Taylor's Education Group Presents: West End Stars in Kuala Lumpur, the latest updates from Cezars Kitchen and an important reminder that, from next term, takeaway containers will no longer be provided by the cafeteria. Students who wish to take their food away rather than use the plates or bowls provided should bring their own reusable container to support our sustainability initiatives.
As this is our final newsletter for the term, we would like to thank all of our students, parents and staff for another wonderful term of learning, growth and achievement. We wish everyone a happy, restful and well deserved holiday. Whether you are travelling or spending time closer to home, we hope you enjoy a safe and relaxing break with family and friends. We look forward to welcoming everyone back for another exciting term.
Best wishes,
Jane
We are proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of two of our Year 9 students, who have excelled on the international sporting stage through their dedication, perseverance and passion.
Our Year 9 student, Jayden, has achieved an outstanding milestone in ice hockey, ranking 2nd overall among thirteen U16 goalies at the Thailand Invitation Ice Hockey Championship 2026. He was also selected to represent Malaysia Select in both the U16 and U20 divisions, demonstrating his exceptional skill, dedication and commitment to the sport.
We also congratulate Lilyanne on her outstanding achievement at the JJAU Asian Youth Championships in Uzbekistan, where she finished an impressive 7th overall in a highly competitive field representing Malaysia. Competing at such a prestigious international event reflects her unwavering commitment, courage, and countless hours of training.
These accomplishments are a testament to the students' ability to balance academic responsibilities while pursuing excellence in sport. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and look forward to celebrating many more successes in the future.
Congratulations to our Year 9 athletes! We wish you continued success in your sporting journeys.
At TISPC, we believe that every student's voice matters. Recently, the Principal met with groups of new students from both primary and secondary to hear about their experiences since joining our school. The conversations focused on three simple questions: What have you enjoyed most? What could we do even better? Have you made friends?
It was encouraging to hear such positive feedback from our newest members of the school community.
Primary students spoke warmly about the fun and engaging lessons they experience each day. They particularly enjoy art, where they can design and create, as well as Chinese, ICT, library sessions and the range of CCAs available. Many commented on the kindness of their teachers and classmates, the fact that they like the size of the school and the opportunities to be active in our PE facilities. Students also shared that they feel safe, happy and, most importantly, that they have made friends.
As part of our commitment to listening to student voice, learners also suggested ways we could continue to improve. Their ideas included astro turf for the field, a larger swimming pool and playground, Robotics classes, more challenge in some Mathematics lessons, more project-based learning in English, additional rubbish bins, a wider variety of international dishes and fruit in the cafeteria, shorter lunchtime queues, a unicycle ECA and a little more time for lunch.
Secondary students highlighted the supportive relationships they have built with their teachers, describing the school as warm, welcoming and friendly. They particularly enjoy PE and the wide variety of subjects on offer, including history, geography, physics, chemistry, science, design and technology, mathematics and drama. Students also spoke positively about the sporting opportunities, school facilities, cafeteria and the healthy balance between school and home life. Like our primary students, they shared that they have settled well and have made new friends.
Students also offered thoughtful suggestions for the future, including additional badminton courts, continued improvements to the swimming pool, an improved running track and encouraging consistently positive behaviour from all students.
We would like to thank our new students for sharing their honest and constructive feedback. Their ideas are invaluable as we continue to enhance the learning experience at TISPC. It is particularly pleasing to know that our new students feel welcomed, safe and connected, and that they are already developing friendships and enjoying life at our school.

We are pleased to share that the overall feedback for both services was positive. At the same time, the surveys highlighted several opportunities where we can do even better. A Class Parents' Engagement Session was held on 4th August 2026 with representatives from Cezars Kitchen, Haanusha Transport, members of the school community and our Class Parents.
Working closely with our service partners, the following are action plans to address the key areas for improvement.
School Cafeteria - Cezars Kitchen
Enhancing service efficiency by improving queue management, introducing additional handheld POS devices during peak periods, looking at redesigning the cafeteria layout, separating food collection and payment areas and creating a dedicated Grab-and-Go collection point to reduce waiting times.
Expanding menu variety with a greater selection of Asian cuisine, seasonal menus linked to school celebrations and festivals, more frequent menu rotations, and continuous refinement of menu items based on student preferences.
Strengthening grab-and-go offerings by introducing a wider range of freshly baked pastries, rotating pizza flavours and ensuring bakery items are replenished throughout the day to improve availability for secondary students.
Providing better value for money through affordable student value meal combinations (RM6 Combo - Pastry + Water; RM8 Combo - Mini Meal + Drink; RM10 Combo - Main Meal + Drink), and introducing weekly promotional meals to provide greater choice at accessible prices.
Maintaining consistently high food quality through daily quality checks and audits by Cezars' Health, Safety & Environment team, standardised recipes, portion control, food temperature monitoring and regular menu reviews to ensure consistency and freshness.
Enhancing cleanliness and the dining environment with continuous cleaning during lunch service, immediate spill response, regular table sanitisation, and ongoing efforts to create a clean, comfortable and welcoming cafeteria.
Strengthening student engagement by more frequent engagement with Student Council and staff and implementing monthly QR code feedback surveys to gather student feedback and providing a faster response
School Bus Service - Haanusha Transport
Optimising bus routes and journey times by reviewing all routes before each school term, analysing travel times, balancing bus occupancy, introducing additional vans in high-density residential areas where required and reviewing routes monthly to accommodate new student registrations.
Improving punctuality and operational reliability through GPS monitoring of all vehicles, reviewing pickup schedules based on traffic patterns, investigating any delays that exceed 20 minutes and providing standby vehicles to minimise service disruptions.
Enhancing vehicle cleanliness and comfort with daily interior cleaning, weekly deep cleaning and sanitisation, monthly inspections, prompt repairs to damaged fittings and ensuring all buses remain clean, comfortable and air-conditioned.
Strengthening vehicle reliability through preventive maintenance programmes with daily vehicle safety inspections, monthly mechanical checks, fleet renewal initiatives to reduce breakdowns, and ensuring a more dependable service.
Improving communication with parents by providing timely notifications for delays if it is expected to exceed 20 minutes, sharing route updates before each school term, communicating service notices via WhatsApp, issuing incident reports where necessary, and responding to enquiries and concerns within 1 working day.
Enhancing customer service standards through ongoing driver training, annual performance evaluations, complaint trend analysis, complaint resolution within 48 hours, and follow-up with parents once issues have been addressed.
Maintaining a safe travel environment by monitoring onboard CCTV, implementing standard incident reporting procedures, working closely with the school on behavioural matters, and continually reviewing parent feedback to drive ongoing service improvements.
The engagement session also provided an opportunity for Class Parents to ask questions, share additional suggestions and discuss the proposed initiatives directly with both service partners. We are committed to working collaboratively with our service partners in ensuring that both the cafeteria and transportation services continue to meet the needs and expectations of our school community.
Taylor's International School Puchong recently hosted the Malaysia Robotics and AI Competition (MRAC) 2026 Preparation Workshop for 16 students who qualified for the MRAC 2026 National Finals.
The workshop provided students with valuable hands-on experience in robot assembly, programming, testing and troubleshooting. Students also completed simulated competition challenges using official practice mats, allowing them to refine their robots, enhance their technical skills and develop effective competition strategies through teamwork and problem solving.
The workshop served as an important stepping stone as students continue their preparation for the MRAC 2026 National Finals, which will be held on 22 August 2026 at Universiti Selangor (UNISEL). We wish our students every success as they proudly represent Taylor's International School Puchong at the national competition.
Under the guidance of Ms Roshini, I had the opportunity to propose and organise an educational visit to the Yakult Factory in Seremban for 40 Year 11 Enterprise students. The aim of the trip was to help us connect the business concepts we have learned in the IGCSE Enterprise syllabi with real-life applications.
When we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by a friendly tour guide who introduced us to Yakult’s history and operations in Malaysia. We attended an informative talk about the health benefits of Yakult and the important business decisions the company made when establishing its presence in the country. One of the most interesting aspects was learning about Yakult’s commitment to sustainability, including recycling used bottles and reusing wastewater from production.
After the presentation, we were given the opportunity to ask questions to complete a learning booklet based on our IGCSE Enterprise syllabus.
Through the discussion, we learned that Yakult is a public limited company and that the factory uses flow production to manufacture up to one million bottles each day.
The highlight of the visit was touring the production line, where we observed flow production in action and saw how quality control and quality assurance are carried out. We also learned about the logistics involved in distributing Yakult’s perishable products across Malaysia.
The visit concluded with students purchasing Yakult merchandise and taking a group photo. Organising and participating in this trip was a rewarding experience, and it gave us a much deeper understanding of how the Enterprise concepts we study are applied in a successful business.

The National Science Challenge (NSC) is a national STEM competition organised by the Academy of Sciences Malaysia for students aged 13 to 16. It aims to develop students' scientific knowledge, critical thinking, creativity, collaboration and problem-solving skills through authentic STEM challenges.
Our journey began with the Preliminary Level, held online from 27th April to 8th May, 2026. Taylor's International School Puchong was proudly represented by seven teams, each consisting of three students and one mentor teacher. Students completed an individual one-hour online multiple-choice quiz covering Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics, with the combined scores determining each team's overall result.
We are proud that our Year 11 team, comprising Jayden, Jerald and Nicholas, successfully qualified for the State Level after achieving one of the highest scores in Selangor. Only the top five teams from each state and Federal Territory advanced to this stage, making this a remarkable achievement.
The State Level, held from 20th May to 17th July 2026, presented a completely different challenge. Instead of answering quiz questions, students were required to solve a real-world scientific problem through their project, Analysis of Material Properties and Dimensional Tolerances in Low-Cost 2.4 GHz Hook-Shaped Microstrip Patch Antennas.
The project investigated radio wave transmission by designing and testing a 2.4 GHz hook-shaped microstrip patch antenna using different low-cost substrate materials. Preparing the project involved extensive research, careful planning and hands-on experimentation. The team explored antenna design, sourced suitable electronic components, built and refined the prototype, and carried out repeated testing to obtain reliable results. Throughout the process, they developed valuable engineering, teamwork and problem-solving skills while experiencing the authentic process of scientific investigation.
For the final submission, the students prepared a scientific report and a three-minute presentation video showcasing their research, experimental process and findings.
Although the State Level was conducted entirely online, the experience provided an excellent opportunity for students to apply classroom knowledge to a real engineering challenge. From completing the preliminary quiz to designing, building and testing a working antenna, the team demonstrated curiosity, resilience, teamwork and creativity.
As we await the State Level results, we are incredibly proud of our students for their dedication, teamwork and perseverance throughout the competition. Regardless of the outcome, this journey has been a valuable learning experience that embodies the true spirit of STEM and inspires our students to continue exploring, innovating and making a difference.
Special thanks to our mentor teachers - Ms Subashini, Ms Rina, Ms Intan Munira, and Ms Intan Zuraini for their guidance and support, particularly in the development of the Physics project for the State Level competition.
It has been wonderful to see our students having fun and staying active in the Ultimate Frisbee Club, led by Mr Gladwin and Ms Rowena.
During each session, students have been enjoying a range of frisbee activities, from practising their throwing and catching skills to working together during friendly games. Beyond learning the techniques of the sport, students are also developing teamwork, communication, and confidence as they support and encourage one another on the field.
The enthusiasm and energy shown by our students have made each session exciting and enjoyable. It is great to see them trying new skills, challenging themselves, and building friendships through this fun and engaging sport.
We look forward to seeing more great plays and happy moments from our Ultimate Frisbee Club
As part of our IPC unit, Hooray... Let's Go on Holiday!, our Year 1 children took part in a special family collaboration task that brought learning to life.
Through this unit, the children explored the concepts of past and present before developing their understanding of chronology by ordering events from oldest to newest. To apply these skills in a meaningful way, families were invited to work alongside their child to create a personal timeline using photographs from each year of their life.
Together, children and their families became history detectives, searching for clues within each photograph to help place the events in the correct order. They looked closely at how they had changed over the years, noticed what they were wearing, discussed what clues in the background told them where the photo was taken, and recalled memorable events such as birthdays, holidays, and family trips to decipher when the picture took place. These conversations helped the children use evidence to sequence events while reflecting on their own personal journey.
It was a wonderful opportunity to welcome families into their child’s learning and celebrate these treasured memories together. Most importantly, the collaboration allowed families to turn a curriculum objective into a meaningful shared experience that the children will remember for years to come.

This week, our Primary students took part in an assembly focused on online safety and digital citizenship, helping them understand that the same values of kindness, respect and responsibility expected in school also apply when communicating online.
During the session, students explored practical strategies for staying safe online, discussed the importance of showing empathy and respect when using group chats and learnt how to be an active upstander if they encounter unkind messages, images or voice notes. They were reminded to think before they post, to consider how their words might affect others and to seek help from a trusted adult if something online makes them feel uncomfortable or unsafe.
As children gain greater access to mobile phones and messaging platforms such as WhatsApp, we encourage parents to carefully consider whether their child is developmentally ready for this responsibility. While these platforms can be valuable for communication, they also require maturity, good judgement and ongoing adult guidance. We strongly recommend that parents monitor their child's online activity, know which apps they are using, review privacy settings regularly and have open conversations about appropriate online behaviour.
At TISPC, we expect our students to demonstrate the same high standards of behaviour online as they do in school. Kindness, respect and responsibility do not end when the school day finishes. Messages, images and comments shared digitally can have a significant impact on others and should always reflect our school values.
By working together, parents and the school can help children develop the knowledge, confidence and judgement to use technology safely, responsibly and positively, ensuring they become respectful digital citizens both now and in the future.

♻️ Friendly Reminder: Bring Your Own Container! 🌱
As we welcome the new school term, we'd like to remind everyone that from 1st September 2026, takeaway boxes will no longer be provided by the cafeteria.
🌿 Remember to bring your own reusable food container if you wish to purchase food for takeaway.
🌍 Why are we making this change?
♻️ Reduce single-use packaging waste
🌱 Support a greener and more sustainable campus
🍃 Encourage environmentally friendly daily habits
💚 Help create a cleaner future for our school community
🔥 Keep Your Meal Warmer for Longer – Reusable containers provide better insulation, helping your food stay warm until you're ready to enjoy it.
🍱 Don't Forget!
Simply bring your own clean, reusable food container whenever you plan to purchase takeaway meals from the cafeteria.
Every reusable container helps reduce waste and makes a positive impact on our environment.
🙏 Thank you for your continued support and cooperation. Together, we can make a meaningful difference.
One meal, one container and one small action at a time.
💚 Reduce Waste. Protect Our Planet. ♻️
