The curriculum is everything that happens in a school that enables the child to develop his/her full potential intellectually, emotionally, socially, spiritually and physically. The curriculum, therefore, encompasses lessons, other activities and the general atmosphere of the school. This is the whole curriculum. The curriculum has been developed to be broad, balanced and relevant. Our curriculum supports the fundamental British values and teaches pupils tolerance and respect.
Children in Reception follow the objectives in the Early Years Foundation Stage profile and work towards achieving a Good Level of Development by the end of the academic year.
Pupils in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 follow the programmes of study in the new Primary National Curriculum.

Our teachers strive to deliver topics that enthuse and engage pupils. We want our pupils to look forward to coming to school everyday and to go home telling of their experiences and learning.
Palgrave Curriculum Overview
The curriculum overviews below show how elements of each area of the National Curriculum fit together in each year. The overviews are organic documents that are subject to change in line with our commitment to delivering a creative curriculum which is relevant and interesting for our pupils. However, over the course of each key stage every child will receive their full curriculum entitlement.

We regularly share our learning through weekly Sharing Assemblies, Open Classrooms and special events throughout the year.
Religious Education is in accordance with the Suffolk Agreed Syllabus.
Parents may, if they so wish, withdraw their child/ren from religious education, but are encouraged to speak to the Headteacher about their concerns.
We also teach philosophy in both Key stages. Philosophy encourages children to think critically, creatively and in a thoughtful, caring manner. It develops their thinking, speaking and listening skills.
Homework is a very important part of the partnership between schools and home. Information about our expectations of homework (which gives indications of expected amounts for the different age groups) can be found in our our Homework Policy
All children are offered a range of visits connected with the on-going work in class. They give enjoyment and extend the children’s interest and knowledge. We ask parents for voluntary contributions towards the cost of these visits. However, without these contributions some of the visits cannot take place. We appreciate this may sometimes be difficult for some families. If parents experience any difficulty in funding trips, they should in the first instance speak to the Head. These discussions will be dealt with in strict confidence.
Throughout the year, and particularly during the summer term, the school enters sports teams into many area competitions.
The school tries to offer a variety of activities across the year according to strengths and interests; these are run at lunchtime or before and after school. We invite other organisations to provide activities after school. A letter usually goes out at the start of term when clubs are about to begin. If parents are interested in running a club please contact the school.
Current School Clubs include: Football, Dodge ball, Netball, Gymnastics, Circuit training, Cross Country, Dance, Hockey, Art & Craft, Cooking , Singing and Maths.
