The Tata Institute of Fundamental Research Hyderabad (TIFRH) is committed to advancing the quality of education through innovative and effective teacher upskill programmes. Recognizing the pivotal role that teachers play in shaping the future of students, TIFRH has initiated a series of professional development workshops aimed at enhancing the pedagogical skills and subject knowledge of educators across Telangana.
These upskill programmes are designed to provide teachers with cutting-edge teaching methods, the latest research insights, and practical tools to improve their classroom practices. By offering these programmes, TIFRH aims to foster a culture of continuous professional development, ensuring that educators remain at the forefront of educational excellence.
Interactive TOP-UP Session in February 2024.
The first TOP in physics called the TOP-UP programme was conducted in February 2024 for undergrad teachers of a class of 25. This first batch was involved in experimental planning, building low cost/no cost teaching aids, critically thinking through problems with help from resource persons from HBCSE, Mumbai who kept the sessions interactive and thought-provoking. The teachers claimed that they were reminded of their student days and enjoyed being able to plan experiments, work on physics problems, while clearing out several misconceptions, with careful exploration and reasoning. They look forward to more!
