A: I would definitely look at your ferritin levels. Those can be deficient. They get depleted after pregnancy, during pregnancy, with heavy menses, with nursing, and this is the most common nutrient depletion that women have postpartum. Therefore, I would definitely look into your ferritin levels and see if you can get those anywhere from 60 to 80. Some people do iron supplements, and some people do iron IVs. I have an article on hair loss.
It's definitely challenging with little ones because they need us so much, and we love them so much, but we also need some time to recharge. The thing that really works for me is every night after dinner Dimitry and daddy do something together, where they usually watch a TV show that I don't like, or they might play some games or play with some toys, or they might go for an adventure around the neighborhood. I take an hour-long bath, where I just sit in Epsom salts, and I call it “divorce prevention” and “freak-out prevention”. But just doing that one thing helps to really ground me. Sometimes I might do a face mask or condition my hair, or just feel like I'm really getting some time to myself.
Figuring out what gives you the max return for your investment at this time would help. For me, it's an Epsom salt bath in the evening, where I just sit in warm water and relax. Sometimes, I might call a friend or I might look up stuff on my phone, and just do nothing productive. I'm not helping anybody, and nobody needs me.
I encourage you to find your own little space.
