Dear Colorado Secondary School Teachers,


We are inviting you to an exciting professional development opportunity happening through CSU.

You will receive a stipend, YES! and have the opportunity to apply for continuing education credit.


CSU Social Justice Literacy (SJL): Intersectional Principles and Practices

June 21-25, 2021 Online via Zoom

  • The seminar invites educators to collaboratively raise awareness about and prioritize intersectional principles for equitable learning within curriculum content and classroom practices.

  • Our goals are to empower educators to examine how teaching practices influence classroom dynamics by directing focus and intention on how social justice principles enhance the culture of learning in schools. And to develop social justice literacy of educators, administrators and counselors around curricular content and pedagogy with attention to student development levels.


Guest presenters and lecturers will lead participants through conceptual learning sessions,

application & practice, experiential activities and provide strategies and tools for sustaining learning communities.

Seminar Modules

· Foundations for Social Justice Literacy

· Addressing Intersectional Differences

· Tools for Developing an Intersectional Pedagogy

· Healing Justice as Intersectional Practice



REGISTRATION is now open. Enrollment is limited to 25.

Participating teachers will receive a stipend of $250 to attend all five days.


Teachers may also apply for Continuing Education credit(2) for a fee through CSU.
