Café Lattice is conceptualised at the periphery of the urban village of Khirki in New Delhi, India. The café aims to utilise an existing abandoned structure to transform it into a physical as well as conceptual intesection of the structured urban malls on one side and the organic fabric of the village of Khirki on the other. The café, constructed within modules of the lattice structure, has parts which can be experienced by the public as well as other parts which are designed to be more private, only for café patrons. An iconic staircase cascades throughout the structure bringing together the many different elements that make this café unique. Café lattice is designed to be a self sustainable farm to table cofee shop and dining experience where people from different walks of life can come together to share ideas, or simply get together. The different spaces within the café sim to provide options to patrons for the kind of experience and interaction they wish to have in this space - whether it be to sit by themselves with wifi and work, or to meet new people and experience the vertical landscapes.
