What is a Performance Indicator?

In KS3 we are going to report performance you using a scale from 1-9 which is consistent with the grading system used at GCSE. It's important to recognise in KS3 this is not directly equivalent to a GCSE grade but rather just an indicator of performance based on their work up to this point.

Reference point: Students are performing at a standard consistent with a student who will go on to achieve a grade X in this unit of work and cumulatively up to this point.

We hope that this will provide a higher level of clarity about precisely where a students performance currently sits as opposed to the broader bands we have used historically.
