During the past 17 or so years, the Snoqualmie Valley Hospital has transformed itself from a failed institution into one of the most respected Critical Access Hospitals in the country. As a former employee and former Executive Director of the Hospital Foundation, I feel privileged to have witnessed this transformation. As a grateful family member of a former patient whose last words to me were gratitude for the care she received at Snoqualmie Valley Hospital, I feel I have skin in the game.
Even though I now live in West Seattle, I’ve attended and videotaped Board of Commissioner meetings for the past 7 years. Recently I've begun to speak out publicly in support of the Hospital District and against those whom I feel are trying to limit the potential of the Hospital.
With the exception of the actions and behavior of Commissioner Pollard, I have been impressed by the current Board of Commissioners. They have grown and developed into an effective working team, and I am confident they will be able to negotiate a great affiliation agreement with Overlake, then (hopefully) turn the District's attention to financially helping other public health and service organizations in the Valley.
With this in mind, I encourage you to join me to become actively involved in helping to shape the future of healthcare in Snoqualmie Valley. Please join and participate on the SVH Forum Facebook Page (link below).
Yours truly,
Scott Scowcroft
