Puzzle

I can read your mind!

‘Nah! He can’t possibly read my mind, can he?’ Is that what you are thinking? Well, in that case, you’re wrong. This trick, called Kruskal’s count can ACTUALLY read your mind. So, let’s start!

Steps -

  1. Choose a number from the clock (e.g.-7)

  2. Spell it in your mind (e.g.-SEVEN)

  3. Count the number of letters (e.g.-5 letters) and move that many spaces from 12 on the clock in a clockwise direction (e.g.-12 to 1(S) to 2(E) to 3(V) to 4(E) to 5(N))

  4. Spell this new number in your mind (e.g.-5=FIVE)

  5. Count the number of letters (e.g.-4 letters) and move that many spaces from the new number on the clock in a clockwise direction (e.g.-5 to 6(F) to 7(I) to 8(V) to 9(E))

  6. Repeat step 5 one more time. If you have reached 12 or gone past it, just continue (e.g.- 9=4 letters, 9 to 10(N) to 11(I) to 12(N) to 1(E)). Now, I know you are not on 2, 4, 8 or 12. So, we can remove those numbers from the clock.

  7. Repeat step 5 one last time by skipping crossed numbers (e.g.-1 to 3(O) to 5(N) to 6(E) (skip 2 and 4)).

Now, I know that you are not on 10 or 5 or 11 or 9 or 1. You’re on THE 6!!! Amazed?
