Our youngest learners will benefit from our blended education model that includes Montessori and Waldorf lenses, centralized around a nature theme. TNS Pre-K and K students will be learning both inside a classroom setting as well as outside in a nature-based setting as much as possible. Children will gain a rich assortment of sensory and academic experiences through these experiences, and we believe our Pre-K/K program will most certainly prepare the children for the more rigorous and demanding environments found in the upper grades.
Honoring the innocence and pure spirit of the very young child is of utmost importance in Waldorf education, therefore we will hold this belief in high regard. TNS will work to preserve the wonder that is childhood, while at the same time, introducing the children to the world outside their homes, and expanding their view of not only themselves, but the community that surrounds them.
Academic subjects will be taught at this level, as the child’s skills and abilities allow. Reading readiness, writing, counting etc will all be introduced and put into practice in the classroom each day. Additionally, practical life activities such as sewing, polishing, meal preparation, etc will be another integral piece of the early grades’ curriculum.
