Joanna graduated with a BA (Hons) in Art and Design from Bretton Hall College in 1989. After a career in commercial printing, Joanna worked at the National Glass Studio where she began painting, drawing and printing.

After re-locating to the Cairngorms in 2014, she set up her own print studio and is now inspired by local wildlife and the landscape surrounding her studio at the Speyside Distillery. Using silk screens, she mono prints the background colours then using the traditional method of pen and ink, she creates one-off wildlife prints.
