The impact of the Holocaust on the Jewish people cannot be overstated. It remains a profound part of our collective history and, for many of us, an integral part of our own family stories. We cannot fully understand who we are as a people today without confronting the catastrophic events of that horrific era.
Each year, beginning on Yom HaShoah, the middle school students at the JEC spend several weeks deeply engaged in the study of the Holocaust. They explore the personal histories of survivors, the desperation and courage of the Kindertransport, the destruction of entire communities, and the stories of brave individuals who stood up against evil.
